The light flickers.

Calem's footsteps echo on the pavement. His hands are tucked behind his back, a pleasant smile on his face, and when he's close enough to Kano Iyona, he gives her a nod.

"I apologize for being late." He does look, at least, a bit sheepish about it. "I got caught up on my way here. You know how it is."

Calem glanced around before trying to meet the Doctor's eyes again. "Or maybe I'm right on time? It seems the delivery isn't here yet." He was here to help be muscle.

Staring at the sky absentmindedly as the man comes, Kano just shrugs - "It is hard to tell the time when your only source of the clock is done for today" Kano states, waving her phone that isn't turn on. Kano can't know if they were too early or on time, they might even be too late and the broker just leaves since they broke the agreement which will cause trouble from the higher-ups... Kano mentally shakes her head dismissing that idea since she already makes sure about the time before she leaves from the comfort of her home.

To their luck, a spotlight is directed to them. The bright light that washed out the darkness made Kano flinched and cover her face due to how her eyes already getting adjusted to the darkness earlier. The angry roar of a Garchomp can be heard alongside a sound of metal that getting trashed around but no sign of it being broken off, a single man wearing a cloak that covers all of his body appears on a truck behind where there is a big angry Garchomp docked to the truck.

"This is the goods," The man says without beating around the bush. He climbs to the truck behind and administers a sedative to the Garchomp. Gradually, her rampage dies down and he lost consciousness. "This sedative doesn't last long and each administration will become less effective than before. Time is not on your side, don't make a detour. It is not our responsibility if you got caught but don't let this pokemon get to the hand of the authority" The man states then give the sedative to the hand of Kano before he leaves the cargo with them.

Kano takes a peek at the inside of the cargo to see the pokemon that they are going to deliver, "I was expecting a small and exotic pokemon. This could be a hassle" Kano sigh and climb to the truck, she throws the key to Calem Pollet "Hope you know how to drive, I will monitor the condition of the Garchomp." Kano declares as she relaxes her legs and sits comfortably on the shotgun seat.

The keys are caught, which Calem spins on his finger before he moves to the driver's seat.

Soon enough, the truck is rumbling to life and they're taking off. He drives peacefully, as if they're not racing against a clock with a dangerous pokemon in the back. Adjusting the rear-view, he tries to catch Kano Iyona's eyes in it before glancing back at the road.

"Should we call out some of our own pokemon?" His Hatterene or some of his other Psychic pokemon might help in keeping it restrained. The only issues is he wasn't sure the Garchomp would arrive without any damage if that were the case.

They hit a bump in the road, both literal and figurative. It looks like the police have a roadblock set up just ahead on the path.

Staring at the windows, witnessing the slowly changing scenery as the truck goes forward - Kano occasionally peeks at the sedated Garchomp from a small window that separates the front and the cargo behind. Calem voices out an interesting question if their goal is to kill the pokemon - Kano could do that easily but I doubt any of her Voltorb is able to restrain the dragon pokemon without injuring her. "If you want to, go ahead," Kano says dryly without showing any sign of her to call out any of her Voltorb.

Suddenly, they noticed a little bump on their route. A roadblock has been set up by the police - Is this operation busted? Kano tapping the door with an unknown rhythm. Kano checks the Garchomp once again and there is still no problem on their end yet so what they need to do is to escape from the roadblock. "This would be a problem. How good you are with words? We need to trick them in any way. Don't let them check the cargo" Kano asks Calem. She is not that good at doing an impromptu plan like this - she prefers something that is fully controlled within her hand like how she runs her experiment that.

"I have quite the silver tongue." Calem answers back. He gives Kano Iyona a wink, then pulls up to wait behind the latest person in line.

Calem takes one hand off the wheel, reaching over to quickly try and lock hands with Kano, tangle his fingers with her.

A flashlight is shone through the window.

"What are you two doing out this late?" The officer barks, gruff. He looks tired and grumpy. Not off to a good start. But, Calem just smiles and looks apologetic.

"I'm afraid my wife and I are lost, sir. Actually, could you help us out? We're moving, you see, and I think I took a wrong turn trying to get to the residential district...."

Kano chokes when she hears what the man has to say. Thankfully, she wasn't seating in the officer's line of sight if not they would get caught by now. The grumpy officer stares at Calem as if weighing something, "Moving at the time like this?" The officer starts to get suspicious. Staring at his own watch, the time is at two in the morning and a couple moving at that time looks so out of place. Kano sigh and decides to throw some lifeline, "We came from a long way and if it wasn't for this stupid oaf not overslept and misread the map - We wouldn't be here at this time" Kano's voice is full of discontent and glare at the officers "Can we hurry this up? I am tired and I just want to sleep on a bed" Kano talks while holding a yawn. The timing for a yawn to come was perfect, her luck is still with her right now.

The officer gives them a final look but then gives a pass to them. If this was in the morning, maybe the officer that would be here will be more competent than this and check the cargo but for now, it is a blessing for them. When she thought that they manage to get out of trouble - Suddenly, a roaring thunder can be heard from afar and rain starts to downpour heavily in a matter of a minute.

"Great, now there is a storm" Kano states the obvious, peeking at the Garchomp once again to see that he's still sedated despite the commotion.

Even as Kano Iyona bad talks him, Calem only sighs dreamily and gives her a lovestruck look.

"Isn't she wonderful?" He speaks to the officer, who looks very concerned, but in the end the act works and he waves them though. When they're far enough away, Calem takes his hand back and puts it back on the wheel.

"I can't believe the bossy wife act, worked. I was going to pretend you were pregnant if it didn't." The thunder rumbles, followed by the torrent of rain. It makes viability lower and Calem has to slow down, which makes him hum.

"How close are we?" She knew the route better than he did at this point.

"I can't believe that too. How fallen the officer's quality of today" Kano muse absentmindedly, showing that she doesn't really care about the police's performance - Especially, when Hoenn is in the current condition. "Fortunately, you didn't need to do that, or I would laugh at that bad joke," Kano notes the pregnant part on his plan earlier. Kano Iyona, the pokemon scientist that doesn't even bat her eyes when she experimenting with a pokemon beyond the ethical threshold, secretly holds dear to a romantic concept of a baby born through love between two people. With a deadpan on her face, Calem wouldn't notice that thought.

Kano squints her eyes trying to see the detail of the surroundings through the storms, "We are still quite far away, I believe. Hard to tell through the storm like this. But, the hardest part - Excluding this damn storm - should have passed now." Kano states from slowly to firm. In the beginning, she wasn't sure that they are on the right path but as the car goes slower - Kano was able to make out a silhouette of landmark that indicates they are on the right path. "I hope everything goes smoother now" Kano sigh, letting her back relax to the chair.

Within the cargo, unknown to Calem and Kano. The Garchomp starts to show a movement. The movement is sluggish and she still looks a bit off but the sure sign of the Garchomp starting to wake up becomes more and more apparent gradually.

The movements are also missed by Calem, mostly because he's driving, but also because he's more focused on Kano Iyona at the moment.

Since she gives him confirmation on their proximity, he doesn't answer that part. Instead, taking a step back in the conversation to a bit that had caught his interest.

"If you don't mind me asking, why would it be a bad joke? You're a beautiful woman, Dr. Iyona, and you seem to have some wit about you. I'm sure you could very easily find someone to have a child with."
