Scouting this strange location, meeting an avatar chilled to the core and living after a brush with Rocket. There are moments when Lilith wonders if Hoenn is really safer than the place she once called home.

"Easy. Don't destroy the carrots."

Paws hurriedly scratch at the ground, ice cracked and thrown to the side as the Vulpix steadily unearths the root. So after all the time and effort spent, this is what it'll culminate into. Seeing these frosted carrots for the first time, Lilith can't help but feel awed by the shine it has. She denounces the divine who overlook the suffering of others, yet proofs of their power are ever the alluring pieces...

What a problem it is, that divinity and strength go hand in hand.

TAMING THE HORSE

UPON RETURNING TO SHOAL CAVE, the same unnerving feeling of being watched returns. in this frigid underground, your hard footsteps clack against ice and echo across valleys of frozen blue. however, you instinctively hush yourself. a horse-like pokemon neighs in the distance. a mask of ice surround pupilless eyes. from its hooves, intense cold air wafts.

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

however, the horse seems to notice you. it advances closer. the clopping of hooves echo too, orchestrating an endless percussion of icy beats. suddenly, the earth freezes even more so. an additional layer of ice grows outward and higher with immense speed. before you can blink, an icy ramp forms right before you— and the horse slides across the ice in a flash to greet you from their elevated stations.

write a post that has your trainer offering the carrot to the glastrier and then post in MODERATION REQUESTS. after they have been given the carrot, the horse will promptly flash away.

should your trainer come the next day, they will find the glastrier in shoal cave once more. shiv will post a new prompt, detailing what the glastrier wants (hopefully, once per day). each request fulfilled by your trainer will steadily tame the glastrier.

[attr="class","hanatext"]It approaches, sooner than she has anticipated. Her eyes meet with the masked creature and though she can't see its eyes, she can most certainly feel its gaze upon her.

The frost kisses her skin, beckoning her to shiver in its presence when it draws near. Yule, on the other hand, seems relatively at ease, curiosity leading her to paw at the equine. It's strange and unnatural, a force of nature that they won't be able to comprehend just yet. Even so, she knows what it's here for and she will not deny it of its desires.

The carrot is held up without a shred of hesitance, months of hardwork willingly offered to a beast who may not even respond to her thoughts. It grabs the carrot, then flashes away but her heart readily rebukes the thought, urging her to return the next day.

One way or another, she will pursue the trail that's been left.

when they spot you, the horse seems hesitant. without the iceroot carrots— you do not possess the same gravity you once did; however, it approaches still, sensing your benevolent motives.

GLASTRIER ASKS FOR:

OFFER THE WILD HORSE WHAT THEY SEEK

write a post that has your trainer offering any two week berry to the glastrier and then post in MODERATION REQUESTS. after they have been given the berry, the horse will promptly flash away.

you do not need to have the berry grow in your garden. you can simply purchase it from the SITE SHOP.

should your trainer come the next day, they will find the glastrier in shoal cave once more. shiv will post a new prompt, detailing what the glastrier wants (hopefully, once per day). each request fulfilled by your trainer will steadily tame the glastrier.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Her motives are far from benevolent, but they don't quite delve into the depths of exploitation or mistreatment either. It is merely curiosity that fuels her actions, a willingness to defy the heavens that guides her hand.

When she spies its unwillingness to approach, Lilith doesn't see a divine beast but rather, a wild pokemon that's just as wary as any other. Instinctively, her hands reach for her pouch, pulling out a Grepa berry and offering it up. Just like the last time, it considers the possibility of danger, but doesn't heed it when tempted by food. Once its icy teeth chew down on the sweet treat, it disappears in a cloud of powdered snow, fleeing once more to whatever den it must have stumbled out of.

Over her shoulders, Hex growls, his shivers steadily growing into visible tremors as shadows seep from under his cloak.

"Still."

But the hand held out commands silence, a quaint tenseness falling over them as she gazes at the tracks in the snow. It'll be back. All she has to do is be patient.

[attr="class","hanatext"]To tame any creature, you must be sensitive to its needs. Show them a little more attention than the others and perhaps, they may become one of your greatest assets. Whilst fear had been taught to her as a tool used to control, it was always emphasised that true loyalty would never be fostered from fear alone.

And so she waits for it to grace her presence once more, as regal or unkempt as its appearance may be. Today, it seems like she's visited by one of the latter description, uneven ice chunks growing longer than she recalls it ever being. Thankfully, she's already thought through the possibilities that may present itself before her and merely ties her hair back as she readies herself to get to work.

As the Conkeldurr Chips Away at the larger portions of ice, she works to chisel and file the uneven edges left behind, careful not to stand behind it lest she find herself kicked in the stomach. Eventually, the icy manes and hooves are restored to their former glory, small decorative pieces added with the Glastrier's inherent snorts of approval.

Just like before, it doesn't dally after ascertaining its groomed looks, merely sparing her an empty gaze before flickering away like a spectre in the passing wind.

A little more, she's certain that it's warming up to her. Soon enough, trust will no longer be a problem but rather, worthiness will. And so, she packs up for the day.

THE NEXT DAY, you see the horse— but it seems different in appearance from afar. getting close, you see that the glastrier has become quite dirty. perhaps, it's all that flashing back and forth in the cave that has caused its beautiful equine form to be marred by mud.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Its rampage drove the entire of Crown Tundra into distress, or so the rumours went. For one as mighty and fearsome as this rumoured horse, this Glastrier doesn't seem to be anymore different than a Ponyta or Zebstrika. Still, she'll hold off on judgement, calling upon her pokemon as she rolls her sleeves up.

Nereid Soaks the Glastrier with gentle streams of water and Mocha cheerfully lends a Helping Hand. With a little bit of effort, the dirt slowly scrubs right off, revealing the pure ice laying beneath. As the duo works on that, Lilith tries her best to trim the unruly edges of its mane, all the while wondering how long it'll take before its appearance goes to ruins again.

"A surprisingly busy one, aren't you?" She murmurs, pulling away to check her work before continuing to refine it. "Just how many of your kind are out there?" When the Glastrier merely snorts and begins to fidget, Lilith sighs, pulling a berry from her pouch and offering it up.

"A little longer, then you can go. Would be dumb to come to us for help then leave when it's only half-finished, right?"

As soon as Mocha gives the okay, Lilith's giving the Glastrier one final pat.

"Same time tomorrow, I'm guessing?"

And it promptly flashes away.

THE NEXT DAY, you see the horse. they do not seem hesitant at all this time. instead, the horse appears to be waiting for you closer to the entrance this time, as if the glastrier was in tune with your rhythms. your schedule. in its mouth, a narrow strap of ice dangles and emanates chilly air.

should you take the reins, they are immensely cold to the touch. one wonders if frostbite would crawl up their palms— for the chill is painful against human skin. even worse, it penetrates past any fabric. the glastrier beckons you to mount its back, pristine and well-groomed thanks to both of your effort. with a snort, the horse brings you two to a different shoal chamber. here, a vast field filled with fences of ice, bridges and more appears before you: an equine agility course.

the glastrier raises their front legs and neigh. cold air rushes from its hooves. quickly, the horse dashes into the course, and you must hang on for dear life, even if the icy reins cut into your trembling hands.

WITH EVERY POST, make a ROLL. you must hit or surpass a total of 100 to successfully hang on to the glastrier; furthermore, the horse is examining your ability to ride them! Yes, you may DOUBLE POST as a note.

[attr="class","hanatext"]As agreed without words, it waits for them with that cold, empty look. Only difference this time is that it lacks that aura of hesitance, which has long been replaced by an air of dignity -

It's judgement time.

When Rubia bleats at her, she's rolling her shoulder back, taking a deep breath before reaching out for the reins. "Stay here" is the only thing she can hope to say, her body flinching in response to the sudden cold spreading across her skin. Not even gloves can stop the chill from biting at old scars, so what's to say that the frost won't eat through the Wooloo's fleece?

As Glastrier steadily pulls her away from the companionship of her pokemon, her heart begins to falter. But she can't be dissuaded and she won't let go - It's as if the gnawing cold has driven its desire deep into her flesh; Giving up now would probably be the stupidest thing she could do.

"Let's see who'll win... your pride? Or my stubbornness?"

[attr="class","hanatext"]It begins with a trot, with the rhythm of its footsteps slowly building up to a gallop. Icy reins may freeze and eat into her palms, but it means nothing compared to the chilling winds that cut at her skin, nor the spiralling void that grows in her stomach.

The serpent hisses in her ears, her back burning as its tail rattles. That frigid agony that arises from reddening hands reminds her a little too clearly of monsters that should remain asleep. Yet, she bites her tongue and swallows her swears - It's unbecoming of someone like her.

No matter what, this Glastrier is gonna have to try harder if it wants to shake her off.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Her past experiences brew a rather strange and bitter sense of nostalgia upon her tongue - The way the equine lurches forwards is telling of an upcoming jump and she braces herself for the jerking motion. It lands with a thunderous stomping of icy hooves, letting out what seems to be a snort of contempt - Perhaps, it had noticed the way she locked up instead of relaxing herself. Perhaps, it was brushing this off as a fluke on her part.

Regardless of the truth behind the matter, it goes for a jump once more, adding a little more momentum to the leap as if hoping it'd be enough to throw her off. Still, her stubbornness reigns supreme over its pride, latching tight to its graceful stampede and taunting it to go further. More than anything, she's beginning to see its true potential, grasping the extent of the power it has and readying herself to take it for her own.

Sooner or later, it will yield.

THE CAVE ECHOES WITH THE CLOPPING OF HOOVES. the horse continues its jaunt around the course. you have not fallen off your horse, nor have you succumbed to the pain of holding their reins. however, the strap ceases to gnaw at your skin with biting cold. even the equine pokemon's body becomes more comfortable to ride. there is no more pain now. just unity.

the glastrier finally halts their romp. its whinny declares their approval. finally, after nearly a week of animal handling, the glacial horse is now yours.

CONGRATULATIONS!

YOU TAMED THE HORSE!

THE GLASTRIER is now able to be caught with your pokeball. you may decide their moveset like a gachapon pokemon (e.g. 6 learnset moves) and add the glastrier to your PC.

[attr="class","hanatext"]For a moment, she wonders if her body is going into hypothermal shock. The cold no longer bites into her palms and the chill that once radiated off the Glastrier has faded to a dull winter's ache. And with the observation comes the realisation that her steed has slowed to a halt, whinnying and snorting in what seems to be approval of her skills.

Sliding off its back with a shaky sigh, Lilith's knees almost buckle under her weight. The thought that she might die has never crossed her mind but for a moment, she finds herself relieved to be on solid ground. When she finally gets back up, she's readily tapping a pokeball on its head, watching it disappear in a flash of red before promptly calling it back out.

"Doubt you want to be cooped up." She whispers, running her fingers over the chilly points of its sculpted mane. "Just be sure to come when I call..."

When she calls... She needs to give it a name, doesn't she?

"Will Sylva suffice?"

The Glastrier crooks its head, snorting at the name offered up. Then, it disappears in a cloud of powdered snow.
