recent reports of suspicious activity in the vicinity eventually made their way to slateport pd. the case was worked up until a warrant is given to raid the abandoned warehouse by the city's outskirts for illegal pokemon experimentations and other related, inhumane acts.

a small team was set up to storm the place to keep the motion covert. a proper team has the warehouse surrounded in its perimeter while a separate strike team was to enter the facility to arrest all liable party.

the latter ended up being composed of two people due to personnel shortage that night.

"go in, disturb their nest, and let them run to the other team. that's easy enough, right?" he asks his partner for the mission just outside at the back of the warehouse.

kyle's hand is at the backdoor after having dealt with any security cameras that might have told them of their location, ready to open at his partner's approval.

Reading the reports on hand was enough to make Tara boils out of anger, the inhumane act that they did to satisfy their curiosity completely disgust her. That report alone enough to push Tara to join the small team that has the goal to stop the activity. Due to the fighting capability, Tara is assigned to the strike team alongside the champion - Kyle Lopez. He quickly gives an easy rundown of their plan and Tara gives him a nod. "Simple and clear" Tara whisper giving out a confirmation, she takes out her Nyaonix as from all of her pokemon - Nyaonix would be the perfect fit for an infiltration like this.

"Nyaonix, I want you to sneak in and goes to the other side where the other team is located and create a ruckus there. Make sure you pull their attention as much as you can while we pull the others. I don't know how you will do it but get wild, okay?" Tara talks to Nyaonix, she gives a salute and starts to sneak in through other means besides the door. Tara waits a moment then she gives Kyle a go-ahead, "Open"

given the signal, kyle forces the door open with a heavy kick and whistles for his mightyena to take front.

the first course of action wasn't a flash bang or anything similar, but a declaration of war. the mightyena sucks up air before releasing a bellowing roar that resonates within the concrete walls of the warehouse.

people stopped doing whatever they were doing, taken in by surprise by their raid. it takes them a whole while to react to kyle, who seemingly went in solo with one pokemon on his side.

pokemon that were initially numbed with sedation suddenly have adrenaline pumping in their veins. a few of them in cages were in sight, most of them starting to go wild with the disturbance. cries of pokemon not on their field of vision can also be heard, hinting of a downstairs section.

"we got them," he tells the radio, affirming the targets for the other ones by the perimiter. "we got 'em!" he yells this time, cheering on tara for the follow up.

Nyaonix has infiltrated the place alone unnoticed, as she sneaks in and hides within the blind zone - Tara calls out Sharpedo and floats around her, displaying her sharp teeth. Tara quickly rushes through the cry pandemonium that Kyle has done with the help of his Mightyena, Tara sneaks into the downstairs. At the end of the stair, a guard intercepts her trying to grab her but she quickly ducks and tackles the guard using all the momentum that she gathers from running to take down the guard despite the size difference. The guard's scyther tries to swing his blade to Tara's neck but got blasts away by a charge from Sharpedo at a great speed. "Good job, Sharkie" Tara compliments her as she lands a heavy punch to the guard's face to render him unconscious. Some cages have signs be opened and the sedated pokemon start to show of waking up, apparently, Nyaonix has managed to open some cages on her own but suddenly there is an explosion from one room and blast Nyaonix away. "NYAONIX!" Tara screams and approaches the Meowstic, she is still conscious but injured. "You did a great job" Tara praises her and calls Nyaonix back to her Pokeball. A group of Voltorb comes out from the room, there is the hostility coming out from them.

they were about to back off, thinking that the operation was starting to wipe them out, when the people from the front notice another one slip in within their ranks.

between the champion and a random officer, they take their chances to gang up on tara and attempt to kidnap her for leverage for their clean escape. the voltorb were the first response. there was going to be another.

kyle clicks his tongue when he sees them back away from him and go towards tara's location. he quickly turns around and locates the warehouse's circuit breaker that usually was on the back entrance, which they came from.

"thunder fang."

the mightyena lunges at it, fangs protected by electricity when it destroys the one thing that provides the building power. lights in the building start to die one by one until darkness takes over.

"go wild," he tells tara over the radio. "the pokemon are protected in their cages so don't worry about them being collateral."

Under normal circumstances, Tara would not find her current predicament a problem yet she is right now in a rather close space surrounded by the Pokemon that she should protect and save. Tara needs to be mindful of her own surrounding and even if Kyle tries to convince her that everything is okay just because the Pokemon is in the cage, there is still some risk on it. So while the Voltorb is approaching, Tara quickly tosses two Pokeball to the ground and reveals a roaring Luxray to push the Voltorb away and an angry Garchomp that quickly unleashes a dragon breath that cut through straight at one of the Voltorb making them blasted away. [break][break]

While the two pokemon are busy with the group of Voltorb, Tara has her own problem to handle where a Machamp and scyther that Sharkie strikes earlier comes up once again and facing them. "You must be kidding me! Is it just because I am less famous than Kyle??" Tara whine as she beautifully wards off Machamp's strike using Aikido moves that she learns from her brother in the past while Luxray and Sharpedo did a quick switch and now Luxray facing the Scyther and intimidate him from moving forward. [break][break]

"Screw this! Kyle, go! I will handle this alone!" Tara shouts while getting lifted by Machamp and thrown away. If it wasn't for her athleticism and her capability to break fall, the throw might hurt her in some way.

in a way, he knows that tara's assumption was correct. it's probably closely related to psychological effects of the more popular guy being more intimidating and whatnot, but he decides not to waste time making small talk and just finish the job.

beheading tara's suggestion, he grabs his mightyena and bolts for the exit where most of the higher ranking criminals escaped while their henchmen fended for their lives.

the chase leads them outside, where kyle knows they'll eventually reach the checkpoint where they'll be apprehended. to his surprise, he finds them turning on him.

as he closes the distance between them, he heaves and lifts his mightyena, throwing the dog towards the direction of the criminals.

"thief."

the mightyena uses the momentum to bounce for another leap, with which it gets towards the boss of the operations and steals the belt containing their pokeballs.

there's a standoff, but kyle doesn't need to say anything to assert his position over the situation.

While Garchomp and Sharpedo are facing the group of Voltorbs and Luxray is facing Scyther, it lefts the Machamp to Tara. As much as she is a capable fighter of her own, the chance of her winning in a fight against the Machamp heads-on is really low. All of her more cooperative Pokemon is already on the field right now, while others are either less cooperative or straight not wanting to fight like how Lord do if he didn't get instructed by Tara. With that said, Tara decides to adopt the tactic of running away while hoping either of her Pokemon is able to subdue while she is escaping from the attack of Machamp. [break][break]

Chomper unleashes a barrage of swords from every swing of her sharp fins on her arms (DRAGON CLAW) and it hits the Voltorb but it is not enough for him to faint. The Voltorb shines red in anger (FRUSTRATION) and rushes toward Chomper to retaliate but midway got intercept with a super speed clash from the side by Chomper (AQUA JET) making the Voltorb thrown away to Scyther side and hit him by sheer of luck. In the midst of the direction, Luxray quickly charge with great speed and crush those two pokemon landings a heavy hit to the point that she also got some recoil from it (WILD CHARGE) resulting in the two pokemon faints after the barrage of an attack. [break][break]

"GREAT TEAMWORK!" Tara shouts after witnessing the teamwork while she ducks from a heavy punch from Machamp. "Chomper, use DRAGON BREATH!" Tara shouts as a beam of light appears from Garchomp's mouth and hits Machamp's body. However, once the dust settles down from the impact - Machamp is still standing despite the injuries he has right now.

by the time tara finishes cleaning up what remains of the thugs that went for her, she'd receive a call from kyle via her police radio.

on kyle's location, the police have already moved in to help detain criminals of the operation. arrests are being made one after the other, but with the limited amount of personnel in the case, it's going to take a while to finish.

"hello, hello," he greets over the line. "all the big fish are caught now. you can let those-"

someone shouts at kyle from the background that cuts his sentence short. there's an audible grumble from the other line before kyle's sighs can be heard, followed by actual protocol.

"we're on standby now. our job's basically done. let the other team take over."

a second group of officers storm in the building, equipped with pokemon that are trained more on restraining and detaining than straight up violence.
