Instead of asking, he steps back into his changing room just as he’s told, and while he probably should have expected it from Cian, the short shorts come as a surprise – even if not an unwelcome one.

He smirks, shameless as always, and for full effect, the shorts are paired with a just so slightly too small and tight white t-shirt. Since, naturally, he can’t just go shirtless at the store, can he?

Now, in contrast, Mars thought it would be hilarious to give Cian a full matching tracksuit.

they really have just that one day, but he does wonder how mars would react if cian wanted to stay another night here. or maybe even the entire week. would mars be okay with that?

like he's ready to save some drowning people or to run in slow motion along the beach.

similarly, cian looks just as good, or at least that's how he carries himself because the matching tracksuit looks great on him.

As much as Mars would love to stay a whole week at Alto Mare with Cian, his job simply doesn’t allow for that. It would be different if they had actually planned a vacation instead of taking a one day trip for the sake of Cian’s birthday, but since it’s all rather unplanned, the best he can do is a day and a night.

A day he’ll pay for later when he has double the usual amount of work waiting for him when he’s back to work, but of course, that’s not something he’ll tell Cian…

”Of course I do. What do you think, should I start working as a lifeguard during summers?”

There’s a wink, as if Mars would ever do such a thing.

But, his attention soon turns to Cian’s own outfit, and while the fact that he can actually pull off the look takes some of the fun away from it, the sight of it sure makes up for that.

”Hot. You could, but please don’t... I don’t know how I’d feel about you owning a bunch of matching tracksuits.”

They'd sure make for quite the pair, wouldn't they?

but he knows mars would never work as a lifeguard.

Well, time for Mars to give up his successful businessman life and become a lifeguard.

For a moment there, while listening to Cian and with the way the hand is placed on his chest, the idea becomes all too tempting. They could have a simple life. A happy life. A life that wouldn’t be nearly as busy as the one he lives now and that could be filled with days spent at the beach together...

Of course, the reality is that Mars would make a terrible lifeguard because he doesn’t care enough about most people to even try to save them, but the thought is nice when Cian puts it the way he does, and a hand is gently placed on his while smirking.

”Babe, we can do that even if I’m not officially a lifeguard. Bet I give great CPR.”

Not like it would really be CPR...

”I’m definitely not doing it if you buy a bunch of tracksuits, though.”

He grins then.

at mars' grin, he chuckles, then turns away to look at himself in the mirror, striking yet another pose.

As should be expected, Cian’s words have exactly the opposite effect of what their supposed intent is. If Mars had been smirking before, this only becomes more obvious and more playful the moment Cian tells him to ‘control himself’, and before saying anything, it’s with a couple of steps that he closes the distance between them.

While standing behind him, he gently kisses Cian’s shoulder, sweet and innocent enough even if all too close to his neck, and meeting his gaze through the reflection in the mirror, Mars’ response come as a whisper between them:

”Do you really want me to, though?”

Thankfully, if only for those short few minutes, they have the fitting room all to themselves.

Then again, it’s not like people being nearby would have stopped Mars.

the kiss, as sweet as it may be, is far from innocent. he shudders under mars' touch, leaning into him slightly.

meeting mars' gaze in the reflection of the mirror, he pouts.

"but i don't wanna get kicked out either."

It’s lovingly that he wraps his arms around Cian, chuckling lightly before a gentle kiss is placed on his neck.

And yet, despite his words, he stays right where he is, holding Cian’s gaze through the reflection on the mirror and offering a pout of his own. Not particularly to mock him, but also because he too wishes he didn’t have to stop.

”You really do look cute, though.”

honestly, cian doesn't mind staying exactly where they are, but it's only when he catches the glare of one of the staff that he realizes they should really stop.

tilting his head, he kisses mars on his cheek, then slips free.

he winks.

"ready? we got more outfits to try on."

Even if it’s not what Mars wants, he knows they should stop, because it would be a shame if they were to get kicked out of the store before they even bought anything – even if it would probably make for a hilarious memory.

It’s with that that he returns to his own changing room, not without first giving Cian a kiss on the cheek simply because he wants to and if only for good measure.
