The Jagged Pass was the perfect place to train most dragons. The terrain was treacherous and the Pokémon that lived here were, arguably, even more so. On a sunny Wednesday afternoon, Remiel had come with his Kommo-o beside him.[break][break]

They stood in a round, arena-like clearing at the heart of the canyons. In an effort to lure Pokémon towards it, the bipedal dragon gently rattled its scales, swinging its large tail about as it looked to and fro.[break][break]

Elodie had a lot to consider in her life now that she was partnering up with the league. She wanted to do good things but didn’t have much guidance on what to do with her wants. Recently something clouded her head when she looked at herself, and she didn’t like it. In school she was athletic and sporty but didn’t have much actual strength. Comparing herself to the well-built adults in the league recently, she felt like she was a toned stick. It was better than a stick… but when shit hit the fan nobody would look to her for help.

She decided to skip the people interaction completely and decided to find and learn from the world’s natural fighters; a fighting type. Was Elodie going to make this easy for herself? Of course not! Starting in the morning she started her climb up MT. Chimney, and by the afternoon she didn’t know where she was. She wanted to be at the jagged pass.

Turning a corner she spotted the first trainer in a while.

“Hey, dude!” She shouted abruptly at the stranger and their pokemon. “Where am I?” Elodie had an embarrassed smile, closing the distance in a half jog.

Jangles had detected the approaching trainer's presence first, before she had even spoken. The Galarian had simply followed the swift turn of the Kommo-o's head, watching nonchalantly as the young woman approached with a greeting.[break][break]

"You're in the Jagged Pass," He answers, plucking a single cigarette out from behind his ear as his other hand reaches for a lighter in his back-pocket. "They call this particular space 'The Amphitheatre'." Hanging the white stick out of his mouth, he carefully ignites it before placing his lighter away again.[break][break]

"Are you lost?" He inquires. "Or are you here to train?"[break][break]

‘You’re in the Jagged Pass.’ Great, she had managed to get lost along the way and still find a way to stumble into the right path. At the question, Elodie scratched the back of her neck before answering.

“I’d like to learn how to fight from fighting types,” She answered honestly. She hoped the other wouldn’t find her thoughts to be barbaric and odd. The man had a nice fighting type already, a dragon covered in pretty scales from head to a jingle-jangle looking tail. That thing would one-shot KO her.

Elodie let her Pidgeot, Fisher, out of her ball. When the bird took some air, she hovered by a nearby tree. A ball of white had streaked past the bird, Fisher needing to abruptly swoop to dodge. A few feet behind Elodie and Remiel was now a huffing and puffing Mankey, their skinny arms raised above their eyes and few fingers clenched into a fist.

The pig-monkey looked from the intruder Pidgeot to the trainer Elodie, their oval nose twisting and contorting at her.

“Gust!” A set of strong wings began directing heaps of wing at the back of the Mankey, their short fur ruffling. Elodie politely took a few steps away from Remiel and his Kommo-o as the short-tempered pokemon came for her. They were much smaller than Elodie expected, and quite cute, even with some murder behind their eyes.

Suddenly the fur ball had jumped to eye level and there was a moment of hesitation as she stared at a beast up close. A hot jet of steam plumed from the Mankey’s nostrils, and Elodie focused on their hands.

The impact she felt when the Mankey’s wrist connected to her own made her bite her lower lip. She didn’t think she had time to react to the attack as the pokemon had moved so fast. The next strike sent her back a step, the third she felt the sharp claws of the Fury Swipe poke her cheek as she white-knuckle gripped the wrist of the pursuing Mankey.

“G-Got you,” She struggled, purely focusing on the claws not digging into her face. With a gruff huff, the Mankey ripped away from her grip and jumped back. It bobbed back and forth, sizing up the girl. The wrist she deflected with was starting to purple, but she ignored it.

“It’s faster than I thought,” Elodie said winded, glancing to the other trainer.

"Fighting types?" The royal reiterates with curiosity in his otherwise nonchalant cobalt eyes. He was no stranger to the martial arts himself, having been classically trained as a swordsman nearly his whole life. Dedicating one's self to training Fighting-type Pokémon, in his eyes, was a far more difficult endeavour. At least, if training Jangles was anything to go by.[break][break]

Just as Remiel was about to make a suggestion, however, a wild Mankey leapt in to interrupt them. Having (seemingly) answered his Kommo-o's call, the monkey instead shot for the young woman and her Pokémon. When Jangles stepped in to help, the dragon felt himself seized by a powerful TELEKINESIS. The pair turned to see its source standing atop the edge of the cliff above: a KADABRA.[break][break]

"Break his concentration then claw him down," Remiel ordered, prompting the jangling dragon to open its maw and unleash a frightful SCREECH that disoriented the Kadabra long enough for him to break free of its psychic hold. With a single powerful push from its muscular legs, the Kommo-o reached the edge of the cliff before striking the Kadabra down off of it (DRAGON CLAW).[break][break]

While its INNER FOCUS helped it braced itself for the fall, however, Remiel was quick to produce an empty luxury ball and cast it the moment it tried to stagger back up onto both feet.[break][break]

He turns to the mysterious girl afterwards, watching as her Pidgeot battled the Mankey. "You have the type advantage," He spoke, eyeing her bird then casting her a nod. "You two can finish this quickly."[break][break]
