Spending a couple of afternoons at Mt. Pyre every week is starting to seem almost as if part of Mars’ routine at this point. But, on this particular afternoon, he doesn’t mind it all that much, perhaps because of the pokémon he chose to bring with him this time around.

It’s with a smirk that a tennis ball is lightly tossed up in the air, only to then be thrown as far as his best pitch could possibly allow.

Not like this makes much of a difference, of course, since it’s within seconds that the ball is being offered back to him by a fluffy paw.

Initially recoiling at the touch of the static surrounding the ball, he then takes it back, if only to give the awaiting Zeraora a fist bump.

A Kadabra seems to have been lured by the commotion they have been causing, and Mars can’t help but roll his eyes. Usually, he’d be quite fond of the species and he does like the ones he owns, but out here at Mt Pyre they seem to grow like weeds, and so it’s hard to see this Kadabra as anything but target practice.

One second the Zeraora is next to him, the next he’s not, and what follows is the scent of burning fur. The poor Kadabra’s mustache. Actually, poor Kadabra in general.

If we want to get technical here, running into a one-eyed pokémon could be called progress, no? Is that just wishful thinking? Desperation? An attempt to get something out of nothing?

The next time the ball is thrown, it unintentionally bounces right off the Beldum’s weird little metallic body with a loud CLANK, and while the Iron Ball Pokémon is unhappy about this, it’s probably much unhappier by what follows.

The Zeraora holds the Beldum, tilting its head in confusion. Pointed ears twitch adorably, and Mars can’t help but chuckle at it.

Does Mars need another Meditite? Obviously not.

Will he catch the one that appears just as he’s about to call his Zeraora back to its pokéball and leave Mt. Pyre? Obviously yes.

Be it a pokémon he already has a few of or not, it's much better than leaving the mountain empty handed (plus, Azul needs it for that Fighting type award anyway). So, a small warning may be needed for this one:

It wouldn’t do much good if the Meditite fainted, right?

A DISCHARGE on Fulgora’s part does the trick: PARALYZING the wild pokémon, and as it is only natural, once the pokéball is retrieved, Mars offers the Zeraora a fistbump for doing a good job.
