Route 121 is a familiar sight, and at this point, Mars is almost completely certain that he has walked through most of its paths.

This time, he has a more effective plan of action in mind.

Listening to music and scrolling through his phone, he absentmindedly walks through the main road while focused on other tasks – multitasking ever a great way to make proper use of his time. Yet, it’s a Hatterene that follows close behind him, her gaze as dark as night scanning their surroundings.

If there’s anything of interest nearby, the Silent Pokémon would surely sense it, and so, Mars leaves the task of hunting and searching to his witchy companion.

Is there anything more annoying than replying to emails on your phone? Apparently, Rotom phones haven’t improved that part of the phone-user experience, and Mars finds himself taking a break from his walk down the main road and leaning against a tree while typing – paying no attention to the wild pokémon nearby.

The Hatterene, on the other hand, notices the Polteageist nearby, but sensing no ill-intent from it and knowing it’s not what they’re searching for, she also pays it no mind.

A Slowpoke?

Also not what they’re looking for, but at least adorable enough to make Mars feel glad he looked up from his phone. He even takes a picture of it basking under the sun! But, alas, that’s all a Slowpoke is good for right now.

It’s just as Mars is about to call it quits and return to the city that his Hatterene pauses, turning at the sound of rustling leaves.

Nearby, a small pile of them that has formed seemingly naturally under a tree begins to shake unnaturally, and while for a single second Mars allows himself to hope, from it emerges not an Unown but a Wynaut.

He sighs.

So much for hoping, right?

The pun is impossible to resist, even if there’s nothing puny about the DAZZLING GLEAM that then falls upon the poor unsuspecting Bright Pokémon.
