It was time for charity fundraising once more.

However, there was something—

That probably anyone would eventually learn when they were paired up with Lars.

If it wasn’t carbonara, then whatever else happened in the kitchen meant that shit would end with the entire thing going up in flames!

So, to throw off any suspicion, he’d agreed to purchase the ingredients for the bakening, and the house that was going to suffer ~~death~~ the wrath of Lars being an idiot in the kitchen?

Across the known multiverse, there was a Lars that knew how to bake without batting an eyelash. However, it wasn’t this universe’s Lars.

“To be safe… yeah, ask Google,” he admitted with an embarrassed look on his face.

He could definitely follow a shopping list, but throwing this shit together was out of the question.

the device speaks, giving them the appropriate instructions.

while waiting, a diggersby hops out into the living room and onto the sofa, plopping down with no regard to the other two in the room. it clearly doesn't have the ability CHEEK POUCH because it tries to reach into its pouch only to find its fat stomach.

It was easy enough to hunt down the ingredients needed—finding the mixing bowls and the appropriate spatulas were but a simple matter as well—

“Okay so we put most of this shit in the bowl, right? And then just mix it afterward?”

sounds simple enough that even two imbeciles in the kitchen couldn't possibly screw it up. little does he know just how tricky baking is. the ingredients have to be just perfect.

on the couch, the GROUND-TYPE yawns as it turns on the tv to some random sports channel.

matias busies himself with preparing the ingredients as well as preheating the oven. even then, he can't deny how warm and cozy it feels.

“Really? Just two eggs?” he said as he squinted at the instruction. To be on the safe side he’d bought an entire tray of eggs just in case they fucked up somewhere.

There was also the consideration of adding just that exact amount of flour and baking soda, too.

Who knew baking was fucking hard?!

It was like reading some obscure grimoire that had secrets completely strange and alien.

Lars was busy measuring out the flour and baking soda in measuring cups when he heard the question.

“They have a way of knowing if it’s store bought, man,” he began as he then leveled the heaping cup of flour. “It’s some kind of weird-ass ‘I know what you did, you sneak’ kind of shit. Fucking freaky, too.”

Although he wasn’t going to deny that the kitchen was feeling warm and toasty. While it wasn’t a cozy fire place, the heat coming from the oven did come pretty close—adding to the fact that it was raining outside.
