How could someone stain the color black, is what she wondered. Jessie knew that Gabriel wasn't innocent as he would like to make himself out to be. She used to look up to him.

What a fool.

Maybe she was just fishing for more compliments and nice things for him to say to her now. Jessie propped her chin up on her hand, chewing away at her waffle.

"Thanks, Niko. He's been stressing me out. I tried to cut contact, but he always seems to find me somehow..."

because it isn't that long ago that he abandoned his family name, cast it aside in favor of absolutely nothing. niko manner was no one, but he had built a reputation up for himself the same way she has and could.

so, it's like he said: fuck what GABRIEL BLACK thinks.

Jessica couldn't help her pleased look, her pleased laugh. She nodded, accepting the fact that he just admitted he'd protect her from her father.

Maybe the next time he decided to come show up at her work, she'd call him to help.

Unlike his phone, Jessie's was password protected. Hidden from her father, patrons, whoever decided to get their hands on it, just in case. It was difficult being a woman sometimes, so she had to be careful.

She got his number and sent a message so he had hers now. She smiled at him, obviously excited.

"Are you finished eating? Do you want to head back to my place?"

after a quick gesture for the check, he pulls out a few bills, leaving a hefty tip before standing. he offers her his hand.

Taking his hand, Jessie leads them to her apartment. It isn't far, which is nice. When they enter, she switches on the lights.

Lucy, her Alolan Raichu, greets them excitedly. Jessie gave her a couple of pets before going to start a fire in the fire place, since it was chilly outside.

"That's Lucy. She's very excitable. She might zap you."

Jessie smiled.

"Glad you like it. I'm going to take off this glitter and put on something more comfortable."

She disappeared for a moment, reappearing in casual clothes and a lot less glittery. She had also let out her Delphox, Finn, from the Pokeball she had been carrying.

Sitting by the fire, she patted a spot for Niko to join her, opening her arms out.

he leans in, placing a kiss on her cheek before pulling her close, leaning the side of his body against hers.

"I'm sure that keeps you busy. So how was I able to meet you tonight?"

She shrugged with an amused chuckle, scooting over so she could climb into his lap, straddle his legs to play with his hair while looking at him.

"I wasn't. As hard as I work in the clubs, I'm lazy when it comes to other stuff. I probably would've said no, anyway."
