Hideo moved forward, for he had no other idea of where to go; if he stopped now, his mind would focus on the weight of their situation: lost in the middle of an unknown area, with all his attempts to find his way thwarted. It would've crushed him, so he got around it the one way he knew how.

Wallowing in despair wouldn't help.

Hideo didn't realize the sun's warmth had been gone until he felt it return on his face. He wasn't entirely sure if they'd actually gotten out until Eris said it.

He could finally breathe a sigh of relief - only to feel another warmth wrap around him.

Well, more like he'd been pulled into it, but he wouldn't complain.

Once he'd realized it was Eris hugging him, he reciprocated, hugging her as well. "We sure did," Hideo softly said, "We sure did."

He'd let her hug him for as long as she needed to - he was pretty sure she would hold it for a bit. Once released, it would be time for the next step.

"Guess we should get back home, then." Well, her home; he could guess she'd want shelter after dealing with all that. He could head back to his camp afterwards and get some rest himself.
