Not too far into the safari zone, the pair came across a pokemon. A hint of a grin tugged the edges of the man’s lip, warm gaze shifted to the wild larvitar peacefully feasting on a few berries it much have found. Although it wasn’t the shiny he was hoping for, the scarred man couldn’t resist the temptation of having yet another dark type to his collection. Azula let out a low growl, but Maverick silenced her with a tap on her back. Because they were in the safari zone, battling wasn’t an option. His best luck, was to catch it by surprised.

Luckily, the canine’s growl didn’t seem to bother the creature. It only continued to nibble on its food. Reaching into his pocket, the man pulled out one of four special safari balls he was permitted to use. Maverick was careful, being as swift and silent as he could to get closer. And when he felt like he was close enough, the trainer launched the ball into the air and aimed for the wild pokemon. The ball hit its mark, catching the ground and rock type by surprised as it got sucked into the ball within seconds. Part of him felt bad that the pokemon didn’t get to finish its food, but Maverick had plenty of food back home for it to eat.

Once the larvitar was successfully captured, the man shoved the ball into his pocket and continued to venture into the safari zone. Azula, as always, by his side with her nose in the air. One ball down, three more to go.

Not to shortly after the capture of the larvitar, another wild safari pokemon came into the scene. A low growl sounded off from Azula, turning on a dime to face the foe. She fell into her defensive position, ebony lips rose to reveal her pearly whites. The bulbasuar emerged from the brush, head titled to one side. “Easy girl,” the man mumbled, warm gaze flickered from his protective hell hound to the decent creature, “It’s just a bulbasaur. Relax.” The canine let out a snort, straighten her self up.

Maverick rolled his eyes, plucking yet another empty ball from his pocket before tossing it at the creature. It smacked it, opening up and sucking the creature in. “You know… You have been very jumpy lately,” the man growled in a low tone, “Are you feeling okay?” Azula let out another snort, turning her head. The man scoffed, shaking his head at her behavior. A brow rose, wondering what has gotten into her lately. Was she hiding something? Is she obscuring something from him?

The pair continued to venture deeper and deeper into the safari zone. It wasn’t until something moved in the tall grass when finally came across another pokemon. It was small, almost unown sized. Maverick expected his myserteous device to go off. But when the wild Bronzor popped out, the trainer couldn’t help but let out a sigh. He knew his luck was never that good. Azula let out a dark growl, ruby eyes glared at the creature. The pokemon panicked, fleeing before Azula had the chance to attack it. Maverick’s shoulders rose and fell in a shrug, moving on in hopes to find something more interesting to waste the last tow remaining safari balls on.

Maverick and his beloved companion, Azula, continued their adventure in the wilderness of the safari zone. A sudden wave of exhaustion hit the man, forcing his mouth agape in a yawn. His hand lifted, covering his mouth out of pure habit. The yawn somehow made him even more tired, sleepy gaze flickered over the vast grassland. His hand retreated back to his pocket, searching for his next pokemon. A single chuckle escaped him, thinking about maybe trying this tread drink thing called pumpkin spice.

His mind set changed when Azula began to snarl, lips peeled back to revealed her pearly whites. To Maverick’s blinked, sight focused to see that a wild drillbur has appeared from under the ground. Maverick huffed, tossing one of the two remaining empty safari balls in an attempt to capture said creature. The drillbur was frozen with fear, not even noticing the ball that bumped it in the head. The ball opened, sucking the creature inside before closing and fall to the earth with a light thud. Once in, Azula let out a snort and returning to her natural stance while Maverick snatched the ball off the ground. It wasn’t something he wanted but it looked cool.

Shortly after the capture of the last pokemon, a sudden appeared of a pumpkaboo made Azula snarl. She bared her teeth at the wild pokemon, ready to rip it to shreds. However, Maverick had another idea. Again, it wasn’t what he wanted but there wasn’t much left to catch. “Easy girl,” Maverick growled at her, fearing she might break the rules of the safari zone, “remember you can’t hurt them here.” The canine snorted, ruby gaze glared at the creature as it snickered. It area in which was its cheeks, it was like rosy skin.

The trainer shook his head, even smiling as the wild pokemon jumped on the back of the houndoom. Although Maverick thought it was funny, Azula didn’t. She turned to snap at the creature, only for her jaws to clamp on air. She blinked, confused on where it went. Little did the houndoom know, the man throw the safari ball before she was about to bite. Plucking the ball off the ground, a sigh escaped him. “Its time to go.”
