ace descended from where she'd positioned herself in the sky, breath coming in heavily. she was exhausted and puffing her foliage out slightly in annoyance, reminding greyson of an old lady getting ready to scold the younger generation.

he sighs out, looking up from his slouch on the stump. from somewhere in the distance a chatot and a unfezant bugle their displeasure as they fly off into the moonlit distance.

"i just... feel like i'm stagnating, and in-turn, bringing you guys down with me."

he was glad he was alone out here in the darkness. no one appreciated a pity party; we all had issues after all. ace gave a small, trilling note of concern, before she bounced towards him and settled on her haunches nearby. greyson leaned into her, feeling a wave of emotions come over him.

he continued petting her plumage, letting his mind wander as he did. sometime in the past hour he'd let his delphox, autumn, out of her orb as well to light them a small campfire. it crackled, embers rising just to disappear, but it's aroma left him satisfied and comfortable.

greyson cracks an eye open at a flash of violet light, watching with a small note of concern as a wartortle went scampering back towards the water line. a scowl permeated the floating delphox's maw before it 'hmphd' back into one of peace.

he checks his watch, curious of the time.

still the depths of his own mind, he mindlessly packs his belongings back up. ace was returned to her ball, eager to rest after a grueling training period, while autumn worked to help him clean the site.

autumn was hovering in a cross-legged stance, wand twirling as a pokemon - a deino - was held aloft in a violet orb, spinning out of control like a public dryer.

his lips part into a frown.

"autumn, really? put it down."

the look she gives him out of the side of her eye is telling; annoyed stubbornness. but she does drop him. with a resounding thud.

it's frail body kicked up a cloud of dirt, stirring slightly as it regains it's footing. cobalt fur was stainede with dirt, and grim, and the poor thing was as thin as any pokemon he'd ever seen.
