Well, he was certainly like every man she had to deal with in the clubs. She would give him credit there. She gave him a small snort in response, followed by a look with raised eyebrows.

Jessie would let him interpret that how he'd like.

"Well, I appreciate that generosity."

Giving her a break... sheesh. Some kind of break.

Suddenly, King was peeling his shirt over his head and handing it over to her. Jessica gave him an appalled look.

"Are you sure you want to put this infested thing in your shirt? It might ruin it." She glanced at his chest before looking back at his face.

this break — this concession — was all she'd likely find in this organization. entertainer or not, she'd conform to fit rocket's way of life. or she wouldn't. and that option wasn't always the best.

his bare chest was well-muscled, toned, and most of all, scarred. the obvious and most profound of it was a burn wound that covered the upper portion of his sternum, and rose to meet the base of his neck.

it was pink and jagged, and despite the warmth his body produced, was cold to the touch. it wasn't the only mark on him, either. at least a dozen or so cuts, punctures, bruises, and rips marred his flesh. most were faded white with time, while some looked to be fresh.

"eh, just'a shirt. got plenty of 'em. would ye rather we use yers?"

he raises a knowing eyebrow, lips pulled into a grin.

Jessie snorted at him. "I think you just want to see me without my shirt on at this point, yeah?"

She gave him a look. Though, when she looked at him again, her eyes were again dragged back to his chest. Those delicious muscles, the scars...

Jessie had to turn her head away to not give him what exactly he wanted. Just yet, at least.

"Do you think there's anymore Pokemon in there like this one?" she asked, back to business.

Jessie couldn't help but laugh. He was an easy one to understand. Most men were. It seemed like he was no exception to that. She shrugged. Who knew what would happen once they left.

"Right... well, then... I suppose we can take this piece and go."

Jessie looked back at the body, wrinkling her nose at it. Disgusting.

the stench didn't bother him anymore. he'd once found the smell of burning flesh to be bothersome. then, it was the only thing he could smell for months. it grounded him, kept him focused.

The prospects of drinks seemed to take the edge of what happened off of her. Jessie gave another glance over at King before replying.

"Are you going to go without a shirt on?"

A small smirk crossed her lips before she gave a genuine reply.

"Sure. I could use a drink. Lead the way?"

She waited for him to lead her, offering her hand or arm to stroll with him.
