Elliott already hated heights enough as it was. It was embarrassing enough that he was trying not to embarrass himself in front of the underboss as they flew toward their mission location, his palms sweating intensely as they continued over Fallarbor Town.

But the moment that the Mega Alakazam appeared...

It was absolutely game over.

He swore he blacked out for a moment when they were falling from it's GRAVITY from his sudden panic. He supposed that maybe it was his time to go. It was fine. He'd have all his money sent to his family.

"All right, Elliott?"

Eli grunted, opening his eyes before sitting up with a wince. "I'm fine," he said simply.

Internally, he was trying not to spill his guts out from the sudden fall. He stood to his feet, dusting himself off and coming to stand beside Gavin, though his feet felt sluggish.

"This puts a damper on things..." he grumbled, reaching to release Enya and Hestia from their respective balls. His Houndoom and Ninetails stood their ground, ready to attack.

"Have you heard of anything like this happening recently?" He sure hadn't.

Elliott could only give a scoff. Of course, with his damn luck, this would happen.

"You're telling me..."

His Ninetails began to use SAFEGUARD, hopefully to prevent any changes in her attack, speed, or defense that the Alakazam may cause. It wouldn't help Gavin's Corviknight ability to fly again, unfortunately.

"Enya, use FEINT ATTACK."

Knowing that the psychic Pokemon was weak to dark-type moves, his Houndoom would would come in handy. She appeared harmless until she attacked.

Chipping away at the Alakazam seemed like the only option unless it suddenly decided to calm down.

Elliott's mouth opened to say something to his Houndoom, but it'd be too late. She'd take a hit from the Alakazam.

However, he noticed that Gavin's Corviknight PROTECTED Enya. He glanced over at the bird, nodding at it as a way of saying thank you in the heat of the battle.

Hestia used TAIL WHIP, only remaining exposed for a moment to wag her nine tails at the Alakazam to lower its defenses.

"Maybe it'll be possible with its defenses lowered a bit now..." he said, though he wasn't sure he had much hope.

Enya went in with another FEINT ATTACK, though perhaps the Alakazam was recognizing the pattern a bit more. Eli noticed a PSYCHO CUT being sent toward Hestia.

The hit landed, but he was lucky his Pokemon wasn't hit hard. "You okay?" he called to her. She seemed to just grunt out to him in response.

Enya's attacks had grown slightly weaker from her damage, but the healing that Gavin's Zarude offered helped tremendously in the process.

"Hestia, keep lowering its defenses. We'll keep attacking," Eli ordered.

His Ninetales used another TAIL WHIP as commanded, standing toward the back to avoid being struck by an attack.

"Enya, use BEAT UP."

With another dark attack, Enya gathered her allies to strike the Alakazam. With the number of Pokemon out, it was sure to take a great hit.

"Maybe a few more hits will do it," Eli suggested with a quick look to Gavin.

Elliott watched the Corviknight falter, retreating back into a luxury ball by Gavin. He looked back to his own Pokemon, who seemed relatively alright.

Enya sustained more damage, but she was holding out for the most part. She would definitely need a recovery potion or two to get her strength back.

Hestia used another TAIL WHIP as directed before, Eli pleading silently that it was enough to lower the Alakazam's defenses to strike a final hit to lose it's mega-evoluation.

"Enya, BEAT UP, then FEINT ATTACK!"

It was a lot to ask. The Houndoom was getting tired, but she was going to do as she was told. She was tough, and she was trained to take on long battles.

She landed her hits.

Eli waited with baited breath.

And like that, it's gone. From it's mega form into it's normal form, it disappeared in a matter of seconds after Enya's last hit.

"Good job."

She gave a wary wag of her tail, and Eli was quick to retreat both her and Hestia back into their respective balls to rest.

Looking back at the pattern on the ground, he furrowed his brow.

"I can't imagine anything else doing it. It seemed to be the only thing here, and it was causing a lot of trouble," he said, looking over at Gavin.

"Oh, it's fine. He managed to take a hit for my Pokemon, so it's not a problem."

He managed to get over the fall relatively quickly, given they had to jump into action.
