Gwen traces her fingers against the walls, relishing the rough texture and unique makeup.

"Good!"

It is only when he calls back to her that she realizes she's fallen behind. With hurried steps, the woman moves to catch up, readjusting her headlamp pressed to her forehead. The light shining from its center illuminates her beloved, and she smiles up at him.

"You look good all dressed up like this."

She rummages through her bag for a moment before uncovering what appear to be granola bars full of trail mix. Bits of apricorn peek through. She extends one to him.

he laughs, airy and light. a contrast to his mood the past few weeks.

the suit was bulky, but gifted with many pockets. the insolation helped keep them warm, too.

ahead of him, leafeon's snout twitched, and she send an orb of brilliant shining green further into the darkness. a yelp of pain follows, and he shines his light on the weakened form of a trapnich.

the lumbering form of a magneton sparked with hostile electricity, floating towards them in clear challenge.

His good mood relaxes her further, even if he doesn't take the extended offering. It was early in their trek, as well, so perhaps it was wise to save it.

"You look very cute."

But her eyes widen as the cavern tunnel glows with green light. She shuffles in pursuit of Greyson, frowning a bit at the fallen ground-type. She is just about to reach into her pack for some sort of healing salve when Greyson shouts--

Electricity sparks from the Magneton's core, but is quickly snuffed out by an overprotective bunny. Two swift DOUBLE KICKS to the face bounce the Pokemon off the wall for a rebound slam. It falls into a heap on the floor, and Gwen reaches for a pokeball to capture it.

he sighs, chuckling beneath the anxiety, and adrenaline. greyson gives the overprotective bunny a smile of thanks, but knows that it wasn't for his sake that it'd acted. the bunny loved her as much as he did. he was glad.

"i think i'll have one of those bars, now."

as he approaches, he lifts her helm up slightly, to kiss her forehead. in his peripheal, he sees two lumbering giants, watching from just past a group of stalagmites.

"and lets give them a wide berth."

another nervous laugh echoes down the cavern's walls.

Gwen exhales, and although she really isn't shaken at all, she pretends to be for Greyson's sake. It's why she leans deeper into his touch and allows his kiss to bring her back to a sense of peace. She would never have let anything happen to him, and she would never be afraid.

She couldn't afford to be.

Two travel bars are pulled back out and one is pressed to his hand. She follows his gaze, however, and spies two incredibly large Pokemon sparring one another down their path. Fortunately, there is more than enough room for them to give them the wide berth Greyson suggests.

With a booming crash, the Mudsdale suffers blunt force trauma from running recklessly into his steel giant.

"I will agree with you on that."

She takes his hand and pulls him along carefully and quietly, so as to not draw the attention of the wild Pokemon.

the combined effort of one of his hands, and teeth, allow him to open the protein bar, while the other one is pulled by gwen further into the cave.

"remind me why i fought for us to come down here? spelunking is terrifying."

he could do tight spaces, and wet, dark holes, no problem. but the idea of being trapped down here was haunting. so too was the ominous grinding noise happening a ways off. a nudge of his head has the leafeon searching the area, and after sounds of combat come and go, she's dragging a klink noisily through the dirt.

"You said that it would be fun."

And maybe something about.. strengthening their bond. She doesn't bring that up, however, for fear it might make the mood more awkward. What he thinks has become incredibly important to her, evidently, and that includes his general emotions as well.

Gwen slows as Greyson's Leafeon returns with a fainted Klink, and it appears after second glance that her own Lopunny has run off as well. Further ahead she can now see that the bunny has taken on a quick spar with a Mienfoo. Given her larger size and her experience, she out-maneuvers the smaller fighting-type Pokemon with ease.

"Well done, Fleur! You are quite the battler!"

She moves to catch it before glancing over her shoulder to Greyson. She inclines her head, confused.

"My manners?"

"i did, didn't i?" he chuckles nervously, but it dissolves into a short-lived, genuine laugh. what kind of couple spelunked together? the only caves he should've been exploring...

"hm?" the confusion on his face was clear, lost in thoughts he shouldn't be having this deep underground. when his mind finally catches up, his eyes widen slightly. "oh, not you babe. i was talking to leafeon. she can be a bit aggressive sometimes." still, he strokes the leaf on her head affectionally. "fluer really takes after you though. kicking ass and taking names."

the grass-type's next challenge comes a bit more hard pressed. a looming snake, comprised of boulders and with the power to shake the earth. a combination of leave blades, and giga drains down the great beast long enough for greyson to capture it. "go give fluer an assist." she moves quickly, eager to give a helping hand.

"You did.." she chuckles, but she is not the least bit disappointed. She was having fun, even with the ever-present threat of being buried alive looming over their heads.

Relief washes over her face at his correction, and she smiles nervously back at him in response.

"Oh, okay. Yes."

The last thing she meant was to be rude by pulling him along. He mentions Fleur and she smiles wider, fondness and pride brimming in her eyes as she turns to face the confident bunny.

"She is quite special, isn't she?"

And, with Leafeon's help, the two of them are quick to take down the looming rock serpent. It is almost as if Fleur's heels are made of steel themselves as she brings them down over and over again for a HIGH JUMP KICK. Once the Onix lays still, Greyson captures it.

"Do I .. take names?"

Once again, the woman appears confused.
