[attr="class","freiwanttbot"]    [break][break] pace was a dreamer from the moments he learnt to breathe.[break][break] dreams that seemed so real and close he could touch them, taste them - to fly. on the back of a bird, feeling it's body below him like an extension of his own, and his hair brushing in the sky like feathers. to go fast, faster, then faster than that. to watch the world from so far away that everything blurred, became smudges of paint, half-hidden behind clouds.[break][break] his father died and his mother had been cheating on him.[break][break] with that, love died - sleeping around started and never really stopped, but how could love grow? from the skies far above, where he dreamt of racing and leaving nothing behind but dust, how could he make space in that for something that would inevitably leave him too, betray him too? he never sticks around. joy and cheerful smiles, whispered words in the dark, and gone by morning. it's easier for everyone that way.[break][break] was it desperation or a need to push the limits that drove him to the syndicate? a kid lashing out in an effort to get attention, or a grasp at something concrete? either way, he did well - even bonded with a few people. deep friendships that could have lasted a lifetime - the young man that felt like he'd grown up with him. the grandson. he would've done anything for them, even stole, even killed.[break][break] but when they asked him to kill his friend's wife...?[break][break] no note left behind, not even one to warn martin of what was to come. it was cowardice, of course - didn't want to get killed himself, and so let an innocent woman be murdered. a starless night, a braviary in pitch-black, and gone by morning. it's easier for everyone that way.
