She descends into icy darkness. It feels strange. It surrounds her, consuming her. It’s uncomfortable but thrilling. Nature’s sounds are consistent, but broken by the crunch of the heavy footsteps of the Crabominable. It’s a massive beast, much large than she was expecting. A claw reaches for her, but the thief dips out of the way. From the phantom realm, Spectreir emerges with a piercing neigh. A psychic scythe appears, striking the same claw that once reached for Lex.

The cave shudders beneath the bellowing roar of the wild pokemon when the PSYCHO CUT strikes true. It recoils away from the Spectrier and back into the crevice it came from, leaving them in peace. For now.

Good work, War,” she praises the ghostly equine by running her finger through his wispy mane. He responds with a snort, taking the lead with a few quiet steps as they approach what appears to be an underground lake. Spires of ice extend high into the cavern while frozen spears point downward. The icicles appear unstable, shuddering against the smallest movement, “Careful,” she murmurs, taking her amber eyes off the spears above and turning them towards the shimmer in the icy water.

A pair of sharp, black eyes peers at them from below the surface. In a noisy splash, the Dewgong leaps out of the water, a glowing horn aimed towards the Spectrier. Another stir in the water shows a young Seel swimming to the depths. A father, protecting his calf, how touching.

The HEADBUTT phases through the Spectrier harmlessly and the dual type slides across the ice, wide-eyed in frustration. Lex extracts an empty pokeball, “Finish him,” she commands, pointing towards the Dewgong. War charges forward, thundering through the cave as a BULLDOZE builds, threatening to flatten the Dewgong in its wake.

Once it’s over, Lex tosses the pokeball, attempting to catch the creature.
