In the misty heights of Mt. Pyre, there’s the sound of trotting hooves, embers that soon fade away to nothingness being left behind with every step while lilac flames dance through dense fog.

It’s down a winding path that the Rapidash trots, and upon its back, its trusted rider watches their surroundings – searching.

Always.

Although, at this time of the year, on an afternoon such as this, the warmth of the Rapidash’s flames is both welcomed and comforting.

A Smoochum wanders nearby, seeming all too comfortable now that the weather is getting colder up in the heights of Mt. Pyre. It actually seems to be collecting flowers, which is kind of adorable and probably the sort of thing MATIAS SILPH would be into, since he’s obsessed with Jynx and all that.

As much as he may like Psychic types, he doesn’t really care for disturbing or catching this one, and it definitely isn’t what he came up here to find.

He does take a picture though, only to then instruct the Rapidash to continue on.

Ever careful to avoid flames despite his trust in the Rapidash, a hand caresses the pokémon’s side as it slows down from its trot. If anything, these frequent trips to Mt. Pyre have proven to be a good opportunity to interact more with some of his pokémon, and Mars finds himself glad for it even if he may not be finding what he’s looking for.

The last thing they encounter as they head down the mountain is a Grumpig, so… no luck again. Catching another one of those would just be excessive on Mars’ part, and as greedy as he may be, he does have his preferences, alright?
