Something had been following him, and eerie feeling crawling all around and it was starting to grade on his nerves. So he leaves the sub, telling his subordinates he was going out for some air as it was feeling thick inside. While the child does come at a slight surprise he also knows that she isn't what has been following him. "Its not paranoia where there is something there, always something," he says almost ominously as an Unfesent caw's seem to be the only thing ringing through the forest now that another has entered. "What are you even doing here?" he decides to question but tenses again as the feeling returns, as they seemed to only have paused as if to judge whether this new person was worth their wrath. And just perhaps they were as whispers could be heard as a breeze in the wind. Most too broken to make out, but one seeming to be slightly louder than the others.[break][break]

While the whisper is louder it's speech is still very unrecognizable, but he has a theory. "For your own good you should leave," he warns as he brings out a pokeball and a Chandelure comes out becoming the only light in the forest. Once more her question goes on deaf hears as there were other things going on that needed dealing with. Pryde turns to go in deeper to get to the bottom of this, not really caring if the child decided to follow. She better understand that he won't be protecting her. [break][break]

The whispers continue on as they would go deeper. particular one seeming to grow louder for Eris. [break][break]

Ignoring how she says how she can't seem to leave. Personally she's just not trying hard enough if his theory is correct. As he goes deeper, almost wishing he could be horse riding like the child could her Luxray, but he deals with it. [break][break]

Its clear whatever it is doesn't want the child to go with Pryde. Meanwhile some type of electrical charge comes from the forest attempting to hurt Pryde, but the rotom in his arm moves itself to absorb the attack. Burning through his jacket and showing the mechanical arm.

Perhaps, it's that she's not trying to leave because she senses that something is wrong. With how the trees try to rake at Reiner's flank and trip him up, that unease sloshing in her stomach grows stronger. So she beckons for the Luxray to press on, twisting away from the branches and brushing away any fluttering leaves.

When lightning races through the woods, she starts to understand what's going on.

"What did you do?" Neither accusatory nor panicked, she whistles and Reiner responds, moving closer to the man (despite every fibre of his being showing his displeasure). "Are these vengeful spirits or something?"

Eris is struggling yet she shouldn't. She doesn't know, they have no beef with her and she shouldn't be here. There is a shadow that appears in front of her. As if trying to block her but it doesn't have solid only a crying mask. [break][break]

And the shadow sinks back into the ground while what seems like metal blades come down at Pryde and once again the defensive procedures force his arm to move and defend him. The SHADOW BALL used against the offender seems to make the shadow disappear. Attacks stop as Eris comes to Pryde's side. "Yeah or something..." he comments before a mask appears from the ground of a crying man. The shadow taking shape at first seeming into that of a Yamask before it glows, warps and grows. A Sweet Scent entwines itself through the clearing, a wave of Thunder pulsing through the air and paralysing the ghost in its tracks. In the meantime, Eris firmly places herself between the Chandelure and the Yamask, her gaze flitting between the two sides as her mind works fast to think of a plan.

Pryde watches as the child attempts to get in his way of exterminating the spirit that wanted to hunt him. Clearly she still couldn't wrap her little head around the things they did, and the things they had to do. Though The old man has been in this organization for much too long for her to get in his way. But at least she did him a favor of paralyzing it. [break][break]

"No they can't die normally, but over the years I have found a way to make sure they're not a problem," with that he gives a whistle and his arm glows to life as his Rotom uses DOUBLE TEAM and just like there there is multiple of the scientist surrounding the Yamask and Eris. And he lifts the robotic arm as all unleash a HEX attack on the paralyzed ghost. Though only one of them was real it would hopefully be enough of a distraction as the chandelure would attempt to infiltrate Eris' and the Luxray's defensives from above to send a FLAME BUST at the Yamask. [break][break]

And if the Luxray wanted to protect Eris he would get her out of the way otherwise the flame would get them too. As over and over it would strike down far past the Yamask fainting. Another whistle and the chandelure seeing that the spirit was weaken enough now. The spirit lifting and becoming fuel for the fire ghost's flames. [break][break]

Just like that the Ymask was gone and in it's place nothing but flames.

Reiner has to bear the weight of crucial decisions, choosing to pull Eris out of harms way despite knowing her will.

"NO!" She screams, but when have her cries ever been heard? An endless, dark forest that will never stop haunting her, silencing her voice to the world beyond. She'd been in a place like this when her home burnt down and now, she finds herself back here, witnessing as the ravenous flames extinguish another light.

"You could have spared it!" Reaching out for the flaming pile, Eris ignores the angry barks from Reiner as she tries her best to put out the flames. "You didn't have to."

All that's left of it... all that she could save are charred pieces of a shattered mask. She can't quite describe that emotion swirling within her chest. All she can do is cling to the pieces as if something will change if she wishes hard enough.
