While jogging may be part of Mars’ daily routine, parks, beaches, and quiet streets during the early morning will always be preferable over the rocky heights of Mt. Chimney. In his not-at-all-humble opinion, Jagged Pass is not an ideal place where to jog, but Mars will always be one to cherish productivity, and being here happens to be beneficial to him.

It doesn’t take long for them to run into wild pokémon, as the Furfrou’s ever so annoying barking indicates to him. Seriously, why do people like dogs so much? Mars really doesn’t understand it even in the slightest.

Eyes roll, and slowing down his pace, he watches as the Poodle Pokémon runs ahead to meet a wild Medicham that happens to be practicing its FIRE PUNCHES against a few rocks.

”If you get so close, it’ll attack you and burn your fur…”
[break][break]
Lo and behold, the tired warning is right indeed, because while the Furfrou may have friendly intentions, the Medicham mistakes it for a threat.
[break][break]
Soon enough, it’s inevitably that Mars ends up having to call out his Vaporeon to both deal with the Medicham.

"Good job. I guess you're also running with us now."
[break][break]
The Vaporeon makes for a much better jogging companion than Furfrou.

The next pokémon they encounter is a Woobat, and while the Furfrou barks at it too, this one is thankfully too far up in the air for the Poodle to do anything to it.

It probably just scares away any pokémon that might be nearby, which is nothing short of an annoyance.

”Can you really not stay quiet for five minutes?”

As if to confirm his point, the Furfrou barks once more when turning to look at Mars, happily wagging its star-tipped tail.

”Great.”

With a sigh, he keeps on running in the hopes of getting the pokémon to shut up, yet he still chooses not to call it back.

There’s no Unown, but the sight of something much different makes him pause on his way up Jagged Pass: a Munna.

One just like the Munna Apate had once been.
[break][break]
Just like the Munna Pythia had once been.
[break][break]
The sight of the fallen bodies of both Musharnas – their brain matter spilled over the conference room’s carpet – flashes into his mind when the Dream Eater Pokémon floats closer, and this time Mars finds himself appreciative of the way the Furfrou’s barking pulls him away from an attempt to desperately try to remember what he cannot remember. The pokémon nudges him, almost as if checking that there’s nothing wrong. Maybe dogs aren’t so bad after all.

He looks at the Munna once again, and a sigh escapes him.

His Musharnas have always been pokémon he’s fond of, pokémon he appreciates because of their usefulness, and while they might be seen as little more than mere tools, having lost two of them is a great loss.

It calls for a replacement.

Are the fates smiling upon him once more?
