by now, his ears have started to become numb from the intoxicating sounds that continue to fill the arena. but he persists, understanding that this is only the beginning of a long challenge ahead.

as expected from one of hoenn's finest trainers.

ditto continues to pulse out waves of OVERDRIVE, though its vitality dwindles with every passing second. it'll faint soon.

kangaskhan and its offspring, however? still rearing to fight. they charge through the OVERDRIVE, closing in to throw more DRAIN PUNCHES.

The mega evolution reaches it's limits when Melody realizes that extending it any further would hurt her toxtricity. it goes out with a flash of light and returns back to it's normal form. [break][break]

It stood there huffing and puffing as the unnatural evolution took a lot of it as the drain punches slam into it's body. It takes them head on as it huffs and gruffs with it's arms up trying to block the hit. After a few moments it stands there and eventually succumbs to the attacks and falls over. "I pushed you too hard didn't I?" she said looking at her precious pokemon with apologetic eyes as she quickly pulls out her pokeball and recalls it to put it in stasis. [break][break]

Melody looks back over at Matias "Seems like you aren't gonna cut me a break are you? Good, I was hoping you wouldn't. I got to pay you back for star tournament." she says as one of the few people she lost to was Matias. She tosses out her next pokemon to replace her amped toxtricity. "Lapras! Give them a sparkling aria and toxtricity give them a taste of your own drain punch!" she shouts as low key toxtricity dashes forward with his fist glowing orange as it punches both momma and baby pokemon and bubble after bubble barrages slam into both of matias's pokemon with it's wide spread fire.

kangaskhan's own MEGA EVOLUTION comes to an end, fading away as DRAIN PUNCH restores its vitality. the little baby hops back into kangaskhan's pouch, ready to take a long nap.

"i still can't believe how easy that battle in the tournament was!"

actually, he can.

smirking, matias watches on as the battle continues.

ditto comes close to fainting after being hit by a DRAIN PUNCH only to be sent packing by the SPARKLING ARIA. it falls to the ground, fainting.

kangaskhan fights on, shrugging through the pain of SPARKLING ARIA before slamming her foot into the ground. a ROCK TOMB bursts out of the ground, looking to encase the toxtricity.

recalling ditto, matias smiles.

"you better take kangaskhan out soon!"

if not, then the blissey that materializes will soon prolong the battle.

Melody kinda shrugged, she didn't know how to tell him she didn't try that battle at all. Who knew it'd come in useful? She lured him into a false sense of security as she proved her worth during the rest of the tournament. [break][break]

"Lapras cover him! Drill run through it!" she orders as lapras slides over in front of toxtricity and leaps into the air, corkscrewing it's body towards the attack as it began to look like a blue drill and tore through the rock type attack in order to defend her partner and trying to strike at kangashkan and finish it off. "Toxtricity take that opening! taunt blissey!" she orders knowing Blisseys natural affinity for supporting an ally instead of direct combat. [break][break]

"You better not underestimate me Matias." she grinned as she hoped her guess was correct.

a shimmer of LIFE DEW pulses before the TAUNT can take effect. it spreads out across their side of the battlefield, drenching them in shades of aqua.

instantly, kangaskhan starts to feel revitalized, and it's from that energy that allows it to sweve past the DRILL RUN and to throw a following DRAIN PUNCH at the lapras.

blissey is recalled, replaced by a snorlax that rumbles the entire arena.

"strong."

kangaskhan slams its tail into the ground, sending boulders towards lapras in an attempt to trap it in a ROCK TOMB.

Toxtricity leapt forward with a poison jab on kangaskhan and Melody actually pulled a fast one on Matias. "Perish song!" she calls out as Lapras unleashed a song of death upon all of those who were listening. "Gotta keep it interesting you know?"

truthfully, it had not been his plan to fluster her but he's glad it worked out that way. it's actually kinda cute to see her this way. not that it's a rare sight, of course.

"what? i'm just speaking from the heart."

the PERISH SONG does catch them off guard. it's a good thing kangaskhan falls to the POISON JAB, making it a bit less deadly.

snorlax's FIRE BLAST pulses out in retaliation, seeking to scorch the poison-type.

blissey appears in time with its COPYCAT, sending out a similar wave of flames to the toxtricity.

She couldn't afford to waste much time "Toxtricity tau-" she called out before matias fired off a double fire blast. Both attacks landed, one after another and he was down for the count. Crap, now melody couldn't switch out her Pokémon either as they were on their last Pokémon.[break][break]

That just meant she had to deal as much damage to blissey as possible and hold out against snorlax? She smirked "This battle is mine Matias!" she declares as she tosses out her last pokeball. "Primarina! Center stage!" she called out as Primarina, her most cherished Pokémon leapt out of her pokeball and landed square on her fin and took a bow to Matias and his Pokémon. [break][break]

"Now! Let the show go on! Give them one hell of a climax! Prim Icy wind! Lapras protect her and use thunderbolt!" She ordered as these two common dance partners moved in tandem with one another. Primarina covering her mouth as she took a deep breath and unleashing a wind of ice that would chill and slow both of matias's pokemon. Lapras slid over in front of her and unleashed a blast of electricity unto blissey.

snorlax, as well as this challenge, is on a timer. not even its usual REST and SLEEP TALK tactic could save it from succumbing to the PERISH SONG.

the clock ticks down in matias' head.

"BRING IT, MELLY!"

matching her energy, matias watches as the THUNDERBOLT strikes his blissey, electricity coursing through its egg-body. it shakes and shakes in tandem with snorlax beside it.

in return, matias' side both send out jolts of THUNDER at both primarina and lapras.

"Lapras!" she shouts as Lapras held fast in front of primarina, they both understood that while she didn't want Lapras to suffer primarina had to stay to continue battling if lapras was going down. [break][break]

Lapras cried out as the thunders both dealt super effective damage to her, normally Melody would use lapras's ability to absorb water via hydration to heal her..but seeing as house perish song was ticking down she knew it was pointless. "Lapras! Primarina! Return the favor with a double hyper voice! We need to chip away at what we can!" she called out as she plugged her ears once more as the two unleashed a powerful duet of sound.

this is snorlax's last round. matias can see the way it's started to wane, teetering on the edge of consciousness. and as much as matias would like to admit otherwise, he knows this battle is lost.

no better person to lose it to than .

blissey ducks behind the snorlax, covering its ears to protect itself against the loud HYPER VOICE.

snorlax, as a final effort, sends out a THUNDER, hoping to take at least one of them out.

Lapras tanked the attacks once more from primarina, her tough and durable body slowly sucumbing to the effects of perish song and the onslaught of attacks. Melody felt awful for her partner, she was gonna have to really make it up to her later with lots of snacks. [break][break]

Eventually lapras goes down, slumping over as she faints. Melody recalls her into the safety of her pokeball and kisses it on the head. "Thank you for everything. I'll get ya patched up soon." she says before her and primarina look at the battle field. "There's no better time than now for a finale huh Primarina? What do you say?" she asked as her partner nodded while keeping their eyes on their opponent. [break][break]

"Alright primarina! Let's do it! Wipe them out with a Crashing Crescendo!" as z-energy manifested linking the two of them together. Primarina absorbed this energy into her body and released her hair from it's bonds, it floating the air weightless as she loud out an ear piercing shriek against Snorlax and Blissey. Those who hear this song will be unable to use sound moves for the next three turns.
