Lux was used to this by now, his Partner Pokemon's childish defiance, the insistence of always going on headfirst. At times it was endearing, though now it's more of a pain in the neck than anything else. He watches as the little one rushes through the grass, keeping up a steady pace, and the color drains from Lux's face when he notices Meowstic run straight into someone else's leg, immediately cuddling it.[break]
"H-Hey!" He reaches down and grabs the Meowstic. Sirius mewls, making grabby hands whilst Lux sighs, an apologetic look befalling his expression. "S-Sorry about that — "[break]
He pauses, then blinks.[break]

Her voice trails off, petering into a stunned silence. Luka blinks up at a face she hasn't seen in ages, but surprise quickly fades into pure delight.[break][break]

"Lux? Sirius! Oh my goodness, is that really you?!" Delighted laugher bubbles from her lips as she leans down to scoop the little cat into her arms, immediately bringing him in for a cuddle. She holds Sirius close to her chest, chin nuzzled on the top of his head.[break][break]

"I didn't think— that is, I never expected...gosh, wow! I-it's so good to see you again!"

Lux never claimed to be one for sentiments, yet as he sees Luka (for the first time in a long time) he cannot help the feelings of happiness that display across his face, like hues of the rainbow, vibrant and expressive. Sirius is delighted as well as he mewls happily in her arms, shamelessly nuzzling his face in her bosom. Same old Sirius, he never changes.[break][break]
He collects his bearings and smiles brightly, yet politely in her presence. Lux, also, never changes.[break][break]

He had branched beyond Galar and Kalos to come here to train as a Pokemon Ranger. He never expected to see her again along the way. Truly, it warms his heart to know she’s well.[break][break]

It's been so long, but Lux looks almost exactly the same. The lines of their face are a little sharper, perhaps, but he's just as sweetly pleasant, with the same demure air about him. Wine colored hair, and a lovely smile...gosh, he's just a sight for sore eyes![break][break]

"I've been well!" she chirps in response, shifting Sirius in her arms a little. He's heavier than she remembers. "A-actually, um...really well! I have a new job, I've actually been training my Pokemon...I-I think I'm almost a proper trainer now, actually!"[break][break]

She's not one to brag, but a pleased flush colors her countenance nonetheless.[break][break]

And speaking of training...the Audino that pops out of the grass is adorable. But Luka, with her hands full, can't hope to claim it. No matter— the sweet, pudgy thing seems more drawn to Lux, and who can blame her? As always their presence is calmly soothing, and it's no surprise the the healer Pokemon is attracted to it.[break][break]

"What about you?" she asks eventually. "I hope you've been well! What, um...what brings you to Hoenn, though? It's quite a ways away from home."

As always Luka was absolutely stunning, picture perfect, something polaroids and paintings could only hope to recreate. Sirius happily cuddles in her arms, because after all, it’s been forever since he’s been last held by her![break][break]
“You have? Merveilleux! I always knew you would turn out to be an excellent trainer.” Lux smiles, genuinely proud of her. Not to brag either but, he’s been making pretty great strides in life as well too. He tugs on the green ranger armband on his sleeve, bashful in expression.[break][break]
“A-Admittingly i’m still in training.. But! I wanted to follow in my parents footsteps in Pokemon Preservation, but in my own way. So I’ve decided to become a Pokemon Ranger!”[break][break]
Sirius meows, patting his paw proudly against his own chest. Lux chuckles.[break][break]

Aww, Lux![break][break]
If only she could read thoughts— she'd blush. And she's already flustered enough from the praise! Luka scuffs her heel against the ground, shyly pleased.[break][break]

But oh, this isn't about her! Lux's news is far more interesting.[break][break]

"A ranger...oh, Lux!" If only her hands weren't occupied— they twitch with the instinct to clap. "That, like...makes total sense! I bet you'll be an absolutely fantastic ranger. And Sirius too!"[break][break]

Sirius wiggles in her arms and meows again, either in agreement or begging for more pets. Whatever the reason, he receives a plethora of head smooches instead before Luka finally sets him down.[break][break]

With her hands free, she's able to pull out a ball and lob it at a nearby Bidoof, one playing with Bonbon nearby in the woods. Oh, right! Her Buneary has finally evolved...that's news too![break][break]

"I'd hate to interrupt your, um, outing," she says with a smile, "But if you and Sirius are free...would you like to grab lunch? My treat! We can catch up, and you can tell me everything about being a ranger!"

Before Lux could agree themselves, Sirius is mewling for joy at the thought of joy. The little porker could never refuse a free meal, regardless if it had cheese or not. [break][break]
Feeling a Slowpoke nudge against his leg Lux can’t help chuckle. This place was filled to the brim with friendly Pokemon. He taps a Pokeball against the Slowpoke and watches it go inside the ball without much of a struggle (they’re called Slowpoke for a reason.)[break][break]
“You aren’t interrupting anything, Luka. We’d love nothing more than to catch up with you.” They smile, soft and gentle. “I also want to hear about everything you’ve been doing, too.”[break]
