this was it. a first night out on her own. delta was in bed, under the watch of a babysitter—maybe @ajay , who was under the impression she was spending her time out on the town.

not quite.

she’d caught wind of suspicious activity due to occur off hoenn’s coast, on a deserted island taken over by a survival simulation (?) company. whether or not they were involved in the deal was uncertain, and it didn’t matter much to the army officer who had veered off on her own this evening.

she was here on detective work, you could say—a mission to find one particular person, and prepared to face however many links in the chain she had to go through to get to him.

though there was no way to know if these smugglers would be rocket affiliated, she was taking a chance, if only to start somewhere.

she moved through the midnight woods, hooded in dark clothing. her zarude’s black fur was well-hidden on its own in the trees above her. ​they listened, skillfully stealthy through the brush in search of the rendezvous point.

Under the guise of a challenge that is offered by a certain company, Kano made an agreement with the company to exploit that challenge as her facets on procuring chemicals and Pokemon that is not available readily on the market. Something that she would find herself a problem with if she got to know by the authority. Yet, no sign of nervousness can be seen on the figure of a woman with a thick leather jacket and metallic mask that barely leaves a footprint on the body of the sand. Even without her carefulness, the footprint is disguised enough with many footprints from other participants while the off-branching footprints are carefully cleaned up by Kano herself. [break][break]

The wave crashes upon the shoreline of the rocky beach, Kano sits on the tallest rocks there. The rumbling cascade of the waterfall near her can easily drown the conversation to a certain distance. A good place for transactions despite not having a secret place to hide. All she needs is to wait for the smuggler to come.

there were many footprints, but following one set only led into more—and confusion. while she paid attention to them, it was quickly abandoned as a method for tracking.

from above, the metallic sheen of kano’s helmet caught the zarude’s eye. it gave a few grunted vowels, but swinging faster through the trees, skillfully quiet. sagira picked up the pace, following surefootedly.

soon, they reached the edge of the woods—but they remained there. the former lieutenant had the sense to keep behind the cover of a tree.

there was only one, but the dress was suspicious. why the mask?

then again, why did she have one on herself?
