She rubbed her eyes, contemplating how much longer she could keep this going. “Awhile longer, I guess,” but there was no definitive anwser. [break][break]

“I'm done drinking for the night,” because she was at her threshold, teetering on the edge that she reguarly found herself standing at.[break][break]

When a blink lingered for longer than she would have liked, she felt a wave of relief—long gone was the fire that burned so deep where she couldn't scratch. Long gone was the foul mood that refused to release her.[break][break]

Right now, she was lost in the present, and free from troubles that would only amplify.

[attr="class","spiral"] "Ah shit. You did say HBO." Their conversation goes full circle and Fernando tries to double back toward their earlier talking points. Remembering them proves more problematic than it should and with wincing frustration, he relents and sticks with his gut. With a silent hum, the engine riles under an electric current and the ride proves smoother than their rush here. Low speed coupled with little exertion keeps the engine tame and Fernando feels himself settling into his seat.

"Beat the ceremony, huh?"

Fernando doesn't think twice. His Porygon selects the closest place and its a small condo not too far from midtown Lilycove. They'll be there in mere minutes. It's the trek upstairs that'll prove difficult. Making it to the elevator proved power hour enough.

It was a short drive.[break][break]

“Yeah, 'course it does,” but getting teeth pulled would be better than sitting through that ceremony. “Nobody needs... a reminder of how many people are dead.”[break][break]

So sombering was the thought, Bailey almost thought she was sober.[break][break]

She sat herself upright when the car came to a stop, and squinted when she stared out through the windows. Didn't he mention a hotel? She didn't see any.[break][break]

Her memories start to lose their clarity. The last thing she can recall was the closing of the car door, and the ache in her legs as she followed him up too many stairs. So many, she remembered having to stop just to catch her breath.[break][break]

And the rest of the night falls to a dull, consuming silence.[break][break]
