Even in the middle of winter, Petalburg Woods was still incredibly lush, a sea of vibrant green against the dreary greys of January. All the greenery in the world couldn’t stop the cold, however, evident by the chill in Yvette’s spine and the crunch of frost-frozen dirt beneath her feet.

A little exercise would surely warm her up.

catching salazzle!

A hiss above her was all the warning she’d get for said exercise to start.

Yvette hopped away from the tree was under, Venom Drenching the ground where she just stood as her attacker revealed itself. The Salazzle crawled along the trunk to meet her at ground level, deadly purple venom dripping from its jaws.

”Hey now, bad bitches like us shouldn’t fight.” Her offer was met with another gout of venom, sizzling as it dissolved a bush behind her. ”But if you insist.”

Musashi exploded out onto the field, brandishing his scalchop before beginning his Swords Dance. Again and again, the Salazzle shot flame and poison at him, but the otter simply ducked and weave as he spun around the clearing, honing his shell like a blade.

Frustrated, the lizard leapt at the Oshawott its fangs. A flash of darkness cut across the field as the two clashed, leaving the two opponents standing with their backs to one another. After a few heartbeats, Musashi sheathed his scalchop with a flourish, while the Salazzle fell to his Night Slash behind him, free for his trainer to capture.
