“Ready Joules?” he called out as she shown a flashlight through the dimly lit tunnel. His Magnezone beeped excitedly, floating rapidly back and forth around Paxton like an oversized minesweeper. “Go nuts buddy, let’s get you that exercise. I know walking the beat can be really boring for you.” He said with a small laugh as the dual type beeped with a high pitch, vibrating in the air before slowly turning away from Paxton, their eyes locking onto an unseen target, before it flew off to smack into something.

He's not concerned about himself, simply deigning to stroll after Joules as the oversized steel type floated quickly from side of the path to the other. They're eager to spar, find the boring beat of Paxton's life a little boring compared to what they used to do before. Joules had grown most around combat, action. Patrols in dangerous territories, the wilds, battlefields. It was, perhaps, hard for pokemon to readjust to simpler life as well. But that was fine. Paxton would help them through it. And if he needed to go out on a walk in a dingy cave for Joules' well being he would. As he considered this, he heard the strange squeal of a pokemon. He jogged up to catch up to his partner only to see it blasting away a little barbroach that had surfaced on a stream a little deeper to one side. "C'mon Joules, aren't you itching for bigger opponents?" He asked, snickering as the Magnezone came over, not answering but he could clearly see the splattering of mud on one of it's eyes. Paxton wiped it off, cleaning his hand on his jeans. "I gotcha bud. C'mon." [break][break]

He spoke too soon. Truly, he’d spoken too soon. Because as soon as he’d coaxed his partner away from the shrimp pokemon, their next contender showed. Joules locked eyes on the fellow Magnezone, and immediately let off a long string of stretched out beeps. Their magnets spun wildly and electricity sparked all over its body. He wanted to interfere but knew better than to get involved when the pokemon was in full attack mode. So, he stepped back, letting his partner and the wild pokemon duke it out. He took cover behind a boulder, waiting patiently with a little potion in case the wild Magnezone got the jump on his friend. It didn’t. A couple of minutes later after the clanging stopped, and he heard the tell tale ALL CLEAR beep pattern. He stepped out, pokeball in hand to catch the defeated Magnezone who was now being dragged by his partner’s Magnet Pull. "Good job, Joules." [break][break]
