She refrains from telling Killian Decker that the comment regarding Deoxys’ possible gender leads to thoughts on the reproductive processes of parasitic organisms, and that with the production of offspring being a main motivator for most creatures, there’s a possibility that the admin may have to consider. It’s realistic, but also like something out of a horror movie, so for the sake of not making him or Deoxys nervous and having the collection of samples go smoothly, Ceri has the sense to keep that thought to herself.

Despite the theories occupying her mind and despite the casual way in which she speaks in her excitement, the task of collecting samples is performed with incredible calm. CERI WILL FIND that Deoxys interacts with Killian's flesh and DNA in what is mostly, a positive manner.

It reinforces the flesh. Makes it stronger. Attempts to heal it when it is damaged and so forth. Perhaps, there is some sign that Deoxys is claiming Killian's flesh for its own; however, nothing has permanently bonded yet.

In particular, the symbiote seems to absorb andrenaline, a hormone used in the flight-or-fight response. Further inspection will reveal that Deoxys also seems to be using Killian's phenethylamine, which acts as a central nervous system stimulant in the body.

depending on killian's bond and emotional stability, deoxys will now be able to fully disengage from killian when needed.

Despite what Ceri says, it takes some time, since each sample is studied and carefully analysed. Once she has compiled the results, she gives Killian a smile, and thankfully it’s not the sort of smile nurses and doctors give patients they know to be seriously ill before the patient themselves are aware of it. It’s a good smile.

”Alright, so… See here?” Samples are displayed on one of the lab’s wall-mounted screens, visual aid making it easier for her to explain her findings to Killian. ”Deoxys is healing you; strengthening you. Your skin is much tougher and more resistant than normal, which made collecting those samples kind of difficult.”

There’s a short and light laugh at that, and the display changes to the rest of the samples.

”Deoxys seems to be consuming adrenaline and phenethylamine, so you may notice some changes in your mood.” Not the worst side effect out there, right? However, at this point Ceri looks at Killian, raising her index finger. ”I don’t particularly think it means you any harm, but the way it can alter your body suggests a degree of attachment that may become concerning in the long run. Keep an eye on that, yeah? Wouldn’t want Deoxys to end up wearing you like a mecha suit made up out of flesh or something.“

Will he get the reference? Probably not. Still, it’s the easiest way to explain what some parasites do.

”I’ll forward you all samples and my findings, if you want to have a closer look.... Oh! I'd love to get some more samples later if you and Deoxys will allow it!”
