Phew![break][break]
She'd managed one of the last safari visits before it closed for the month. What luck! Luka had practically slid through the closing doors like Indiana Jones...but she made it![break][break]
She briskly hunts through the grass, eyes on a few prizes in particular. Hopefully her search doesn't take too long, because time is running out!

Bellchimes announce every frantic step, and Luka glances around wildly to find the source of the sound. Eventually she spots it: a little yellow bell that weaves in and out of the grass, following her with mirthful laughter that sounds like ringing bells.[break][break]
Luka grins and follows her, but finds her just out of reach with every step. Eventually, the bell Pokemon has had her fun and flies up into the air, becoming a little yellow dot in the sky.[break][break]
With a breathless huff Luka stops and tries to get her bearings. At her side, Plum lazily spools a tendril of dream mist forwards, and Luka follows it eagerly.[break][break]

A soft rustle sounds again, and a gentle rippling splash is not far behind. Beyond the fields of sprawling grass lays a small pond, the surface of the water disturbed as a flat tail just barely protrudes from the surface.[break][break]
More tendrils of dream mist spill forth, curling up and over the water like fog on a cold morning. The water's surface is disturbed once again when an Oshawott jumps out, squealing indignantly and running for safety— which, ironically, just so happens to be Luka's waiting arms.[break][break[
After a few minutes the little otter is pacified and happy, and swims alongside the pair as they make their way further into the safari zone.

It's a shame they're in such a hurry. Luka would have loved to soak in the ambiance and really get a chance to bond with each adorable Pokemon. But that can come later, right? The Oshawott at her side seems to understand as he chirps and squeaks excitedly along their fast-paced journey.[break][break]
And then he stops suddenly, turning up his nose and squeaking indignantly. From the grass around them comes another rustle and the subtle smell of smoke. Upon inspection, Luka spots a tiny Cyndaquil shuffling among the plants, looking around frantically.[break][break]
Oshawott runs up and puts a paw over the other Pokemon's...shoulder? And begins to squeak angrily again. The point is clear— he won't be leaving without his buddy![break][break]
It doesn't take that much convincing for the Cyndaquil to come toddling along with the rest of them— just a pokepuff and some encouragement from her friend.

Their hurried steps carry them quickly through grass and foliage, and soon a tranquil meadow makes way for thickly growing trees. The rustle of leaves and wings can be heard, and in the distance comes a faint birdsong. But sun still dapples through the leaves overhead, illuminating patches of the forest in golden sunlight.[break][break]
Dream mist weaves in and out of verdant foliage as Plum seeks out any creatures that might be hidden or sleeping amongst the trees. Indeed, tendrils quickly wrap around one peacefully snoozing Rowlet, tucked away in the hollow of a tree.[break][break]
It almost feels unfair to take advantage of the sleepy little sweetie like this. But the Rowlet seems to have no qualms as Luka cradles her in her arms, quickly rocking her back to sleep as the group continues on their way.

Faintly, the closing chimes of the safari can be heard. Luka and her team pick up the pace as they race towards the exit, lest they catch the warden's ire![break][break]
She doesn't even notice when their party increases in number. A friendly Growlithe, assuming they're playing some grand game of fetch, has joined their number! It's only when they near the exit that Luka realizes the puppy is among them.[break][break]
"Sorry, sweetie! We're, um, we're leaving..." The Growlithe simply barks happily and wags her tail, following step for step. After a moment, Luka gives a resigned shrug and allows the lil baby to follow her ragtag group out of the safari zone.
