the answer comes without hesitation. she could ask him to board a rocket to space and he'd do it no questions asked. it speaks to the level of trust he has in her and in her abilities as a scientist.

the looming possibilities excite him as well.

she smiled, although she hadn’t really expected a different answer. while her trust for theo was not complete, somehow, she found she did trust that he would follow her—perhaps anywhere. in the discovery of that trust, there were pieces of happiness and security she hadn’t before realized.

at his question, then, she laughed.

”what? drunk?” because she was, still. ”no, not tonight.”

feeling the water begin to cool, her arms came up to wrap around her elbows.

”it’s cold.”

she shook her head, maintaining that it was not a good idea. perhaps, it even sounded like a worse idea when he said it aloud.

“the last thing i want to be lost in another world with a hangover.”

smiling, she took the towel and dried herself enough to step out, then wrapping it around the dragon on her belly. she’d forgotten about the fireplace. looking back up towards him, she nodded happily.

“sounds nice.”
