priam poses for a picture of him with his gabite on the very brief rest in between rounds. a click after, and priam shuffles for him to post the picture on social media. as soon as he finishes, he rushes to where he was supposed to be.

everything was done within the sight of his next partner. priam brightens up at its sight, since it's rare for girls to be available within the roulette, but it's not like the boys were bad either. it's just like how rare pokemon are worth more in the black market, but he'd still take his shroomish over something like a volcarona.

"hi, hi!" the urge to whistle is withheld since he was told that it was a douche move. "you get me, priam conrad, this round! what should i call you?"

instead he winks with a very sharp tilt of his head to the side, like those iconic romance titles out there, and partners it with his signature priam smile.

priam conrad reminds her of a lot of the frat boys back during her uni student days, except he doesn’t immediately whistle or catcall her, which is a plus in her book. Is Lia’s bar low? Honestly, it’s pretty much a tripping hazard in hell at this point.

”Hey! Lia. It’s nice to meet you, Priam.” The smile she gives him is soft and gentle, a strand of fair hair being tucked behind her ear. Atop of her head naps a Comfey with a string of white and yellow blooms, as if it were her very own flower crown – 2010s vibes much?

how come bryan delarosa doesn't do hair tucks like that? he questions himself why the man doesn't do cute acts like this. maybe then he'd get something from him.

"lots of things!" he answers immediately. it takes only a second to brainstorm the things he likes to do that might pair up with the other.

she seems like a soft girl, so he brings out all the activities that soft girls like.

"sometimes, i take hikes. ever grande's pretty so i can't get bored of it! on weekends when the weather's good, i visit the beach, maybe a little fishing here and there. oh, i do gardening at home!"

he's not exactly lying about those, so that's a big plus.

”Oh, you live in Ever Grande? It’s a really nice city.” Coincidentally enough, her last date had also been with someone who lives there. Is that perhaps fate telling her something? Probably not, but Lia happens to be the sort of person who sometimes gets a little too carried away with thoughts like those.

”I think the last time I tried to keep a plant that wasn’t a pokémon, I overwatered it and it died in a week.” She chuckles, even if she does feel a little bad about it. After all, no one likes being bad at things. ”Hiking is more my speed, though. I’ve been doing a lot of that lately.”

Especially given that she’s now a full-fledged ranger.

it's obviously elijah gardner for him. he doesn't have a social life, but that means he's free to hang out all the time! he's such a great friend to have, especially since he can't say no to anything priam asks because he doesn't have an excuse.

"ooh, you hike a lot? i haven't been able to lately since my job at the lab keeps me indoors a lot."

before it gets suggested that it's the opposite for her, priam quickly interjects before she can think of it herself.

"whaddya do then? something cool that lets you get close to nature? i had a friend once that goes study rocks or whatever, and i get to tag along with his treasure hunt adventures often. do you do something similar?"

Lia has never been good at bothering people with her problems, but that sure sounds like it would be a helpful contact to have. Who knows, if she had a friend who knows about gardening, perhaps her poor ficus would still be alive.

”That depends on how cool you think being a ranger is!” She chuckles at that. ”I do spend a lot of time out in nature, though, and I’m also a historian so I go exploring sometimes – to find artefacts and ruins and all that. It’s really fun!”

There’s a bright smile when speaking of these things, since they are her passions in life.

priam just smiles. he doesn't let his thoughts out despite how much they easily escape his lips. just this ones, he doesn't share how hard rangers must've had it with how they're supposedly not funded enough.

"i'm your person to call if you ever want to go to dangerous places to hunt for treasure! did you know i actually found something at the depths of shoal cave before? it's not a shell bell, by the way!"

it ended up being the key component for some big research he has entirely forgotten about since it's been years since then. something about mega evolution if he remembers correctly.

"i've been at the regirock ruins too, if you've been there before. that place is so nice since it's like straight out of an archeology movie!" it's actually an action movie, but the main character is an archeologist. "we should've talked about that sooner, since-"

he gets cut off by the end of the round.

"well, there's that," he utters, somewhat deflated. priam is charged straight back up to full energy the next second, however. "let's talk about this again sometime!"

In Lia’s own opinion, one of the best parts about studying history is getting to see vestiges of the past. She has always loved things like exploring and “going on adventures”, even if she knows how dangerous all that can be at times.

So, when hearing Priam’s response, there’s a glimmer of excitement in her eyes, even if her energy levels definitely aren’t as high as those of the man before her.

”Have you really? That sounds awesome! I always wanted to go to the Regirock Ruins…”

Shame that, unbeknownst to her, they’re just a pile of rubble and sand now.

The chiming of a bell indicates the end of the round, and if only for a second, she pouts.

”Ah, that’s a shame.” There’s a soft laugh, smiling at Priam soon enough. ”It was good to meet you, Priam! I’d really love to talk about all this with you again, we should exchange numbers.”
