The Swanna’s appearance came as a surprise to Cyg and both her Pokemon. One moment they were parked underneath the shade of the cycling road and listening to the hubbub of wheels and bells and the next a different shadow was morphing out into the open sky-- this one attached to a Pokemon.

“Oh, snap,” Cyg said, after staring for a moment. “Lis, use hypnosis on that bad boy.”

The Haunter looked up from where she had been sniffing flowers, locked her eyes onto the Swanna, and lifted off, tongue lolling in excitement. She floated up in front of the bird’s path, eye’s glowing. Pale rings of purple energy rolled out into the air, circling the Swanna-- the next moment, the Swanna’s eyes closed, her wings stilled, and she dropped like a stone-- crash-- to the ground.

She landed in a patch of plush grass and looked little the worse for wear, thankfully. Her beautiful white chest rising and falling with her breathing.

Cyg gently tossed the PokeBall onto her slumbering form, and watched her dissolve into particles of light. “This is kinda poetic, don’t you think? For me. My name. Swans.”

Elisabet grinned to show her agreement.
