ever since receiving a psychic pokemon from such a dear friend (the notion makes her cackle. dear. hah.), it's been so much easier being able to see. though it's not perfect; she's found that she's become nearsighted with the second-hand sight, and it gets a little difficult past a certain distance.[break][break]

it's better than nothing. [break][break]

her ears work, though, which is a blessing. because it helps them perk up, glancing in the direction of a bark. her grip on the hatterene's hat appendage loosens as the psychic pokemon turns her head. "is that an arcanine i hear?~" she hums, tugging the hatterene in the direction of the roar. [break][break]

and the witch reluctantly follows.

At first, the man intended to keep his attention upon the Blade Pokemon before him.[break][break]

Barks and the like hadn’t been a new occurrence from his beloved hound, in any case, but upon noting a faint trace of movement from the corner of his eye, he turned his head slightly (and then a bit more) at the sight of a passerby. He blinked, exchanging a brief glance with the psychic type by him before nodding in gesture for him to rest.[break][break]

He was about to say something, but found himself cut off by nothing more than his Piplup hopping off the back of the Arcanine it lingered with, chirping as she took an interest in the woman.[break][break]

Her trainer, on the other hand, sighed softly before walking over, picking her up.[break][break]

”...Apologies,” he hummed, softly lowering the bird’s flippers as she waved them towards the newcomers. ”She’s a bit too curious for her own good, sometimes…”

the hatterene is this (read as: finger pinching this) close to punting the piplup. [break][break]

not because it was small, no. it's not because it waddled, and it's not because it ran with its flippers so casually, and looked puffy enough to start bouncing around like a rubber ball. no, it's because it was starting to get too loud, and the vibes were certainly not jivving with the witch. [break][break]

the only reason she doesn't is because of the gallade standing not too far away, in attention to the arcanine who seem to be keeping a watchful eye on the little blue pokemon. deep breaths, just focus on letting you trainer see things. just act as her eyes. [break][break]

aria doesn't need to turn her head to look, but she turns it anyways when she realizes where the man is in relation to herself. so with closed eyes, she waves with a smile on her face. "nah, don't worry about it~" she's so casually chiming "it's cute~" [break][break]

know what else is cute? the ambipom that's walking around. she catches it in the peripheral of the hatterene's vision, and she reaches to feel for a pokeball before handing it to the hatterene's tendril. "chuck it at the ambipom." she softly commands the psychic type, who throws the pokeball at an unsuspecting monkey. [break][break]

and back to the man, keeping the hearty smile "she's the complete opposite of my sobble, at least. this is refreshing to see~"

Go figure. Of course it was believable.[break][break]

A soft hum escaped his lips as he tilted his head, a gaze of bicolored hues shifting to linger upon the very bird within his arms. His face scrunched faintly upon feeling her flippers begin to reach up and tap wildly upon his face, though it had been the same series of gestures, altogether, that prompted the faintest of smiles to tug upon his lips, as well.[break][break]

”...She definitely is a handful at times, though,” he murmured, only casting a brief glance towards the passing Pokemon before shifting his attention towards the bird once more. His smile broadened at the chirps he’d received in response to a soft tap atop her beak. ”If not for my other Pokemon, she’d be much more prone to trouble…” [break][break]

"she sounds really energetic, though~" and although she could try to see it, the hatterene is desperately trying to make sure that she doesn't see it, lest her vibes be thrown off. there's something endearing about all that energy. "and energetic isn't a bad thing. wouldn't you agree?~" she gently nudges at the hatterene, who only groans, softly, in response. [break][break]

a wobbuffet comes by, casually waddling about, and in an attempt to let off some steam (doubtlessly from how janked she feels), the witch throws a psycho cut at the pokemon, and throws a pokeball at it immediately afterwards - which prompts the trainer to nudge her with her elbow, again, but this time a bit more aggressively. [break][break]

"cuter than this one, here, whose mood falls with the drop of a hat~"

He hummed softly, sending a brief glance towards the hat-clad Pokemon standing by the woman from the corner of his eye.[break][break]

”Mmn… I’m sure that’s a bit subjective…” he mused, bringing his attention back towards the bird within his arms once more. However faint it may have been, the tug upon his lips only proved to broaden as she began to poke and chirp at him once more. He breathed a soft, chuckling sigh before looking up again. ”I’m sure she’s as endearing in her own way. …She simply looks more receptive towards calmer types.”[break][break]

As someone of similar nature, he definitely understood it, after all.[break][break]

His eyes strayed towards the sidelines as a couple of creatures entered the pathway from afar, and after a brief bout of thought, he tossed a Pokeball out towards the floating blue Pokemon as it passed by. ”...As much as I care for my little one, here, she definitely does tire me, sometimes…” he went on idly, watching as the dual type had been drawn into the capsule in the near distance.[break][break]

a musharna is tired, floating idly along the path. [break][break]

it's such a shame that it enters the hatterene's vision, and a gentle nudge of the woman prompts her to throw the pokeball at it once again - quite violently, might she add. it's this display that makes a woman hum in amusement, seeing that she can practically feel the fatigue radiating off the poor witch.[break][break]

she can't exactly turn her gaze down to the piplup, so instead she hums, feeling for her bag and opening it up, reaching around for a pokeball that sits in it. then she passes it to the hatterene, who holds it in her tendril. [break][break]

"she sounds and looks like it, but again, that's never a bad thing. maybe i should let out my sobble to learn a thing or two~" she half jests, because she knows that the sobble will start to cry the moment it sees another pokemon. [break][break]

"oh!" but she's getting a bit ahead of herself. and when she realizes, she wears a bright smile to her lips, her hand held out in front of her with an open palm "i don't think i've introduced myself?" and with a tilt of her head, she prays that she's holding her hand out in the right direction "my name is ariadne, but just ari or aria's fine~"[break][break]

and yes, she is holding the hand a little bit at an angle to him.

He couldn’t help but stare at her hand as it remained misaligned.[break][break]

Nevertheless, he simply shifted a pace or so over in order to properly meet her hand with his own, speaking naught a word of its skewed position as he gave her a brief shake of the hand. ”...Asahiko,” he murmured in simple response, nodding in instinct before realizing the mootness of the gesture. His eyes drifted towards their hands once more before he released her hand, bringing his own into a cross with the remaining upon his chest.[break][break]

He eyed the witch by them once more for a moment, humming.[break][break]

”...And I agree it’s not quite a bad thing,” he mused on, ”but it doesn’t change the tiredness that comes with it. …I feel as though your Hatterene could attest, as well.”[break][break]

there'd be a film of white over her iris if it weren't for the brightly coloured contact lens. [break][break]

so when she opens her eyes, she's giving a small smile of brightly coloured plum. "it's nice to meet you, asahiko~" it's such a mouthful, but she'll figure the name out. it's a slightly.. odd? name as well, not like she could speak. [break][break]

it certainly wasn't hoenn native. [break][break]

the two pokemon pass by, but she doesn't give them too. much attention. rather, her hatterene gives them a dirty little glare before she glances back to the taller man. she wouldn't have, but aria's in desperate need to maintain some sort of eye contact. god forbid she stares somewhere else by accident. [break][break]

"she'll live~" her hand raises to gently pat the back of the witch, who groans softly as he's given a faux reassurance. "though if there's any tiredness, i'd say it's from the heat." her hand points upwards, towards the dome encasing the region. "possibly the fault of this thing, here?~"
