he stops at the door, and she reaches out to take the knob. "i guess.. we take a look at how things are now, and work from there?" her tone raises in slight confusion, and she grimaces, trying to figure out how exactly they would be doing this. "it should be easier to matchmake if they're just angry."

”Hm.” The smile that danced so consistently upon his lips faltered vaguely as he listened along, and eventually, he furrowed his brows in thought as they walked along. Before long, he found himself within sight of the building, and as she eventually took the door, he merely waited for her to open it before slipping in. ”I somewhat doubt that… We’d have to figure out what they’re mad about, and depending on their temperaments, that just might be riskier…”[break][break]

"at least if they're angry, it means they still have energy to do things.." she's pensive, trying to conjure up something - anything - that could help their.. predicament. in the end, she pushes through the door, glancing back to dalyong as he follows behind "for now, it would be best to try gauge the situation." they arrive, and are briefed by the breeder to get a better idea of.. the situation. though even the breeders don't seem to know what the problem is, and she sighs "looks like we have to figure this out on our own.." she mumbles, walking into the room of the pangoro. [break][break]

and when she pushes through, she sees the two pandas.. on the opposite sides of the room, almost.. sulking? neither were explosive, or seemed lazy, but..[break][break]

"... confirm with me real quick." she gently tugs a man's arm, tilting her head and gesturing to the pangoro "do they look like they're sulking to you, too?"

An instinctive scoff of a laugh left his lips at the sound of her initial words, a vaguely mischievous spark of amusement glinting within his eyes as he peered towards her from the corner of his eye. ”Hm~. ‘Energy to do things.’ I see~.” Humming after the fact, he merely reached out to hold the door for himself as she stepped forward first, allowing it to shut behind him as he followed in tow. ”Not the first time anyone would’ve heard about angry sex…” he murmured, obviously regardless of whether or not she’d intended for interpretation to be as such.[break][break]

Following that, he gave a lower, sighing him as he lifted his arms, stretching them and his shoulders behind him as he walked in tow. One quick glance around their surroundings had been all it took for him to note the very things that he’d been asked about, thus prompting him to narrow his eyes and nod accordingly in response.[break][break]

”They do, mmn~.” He paused to cross one arm in front of it, linking it with the other before tugging and stretching it. ”Why do you suppose that’s the case?” he went on, shifting his arms and their positions to repeat the gesture.

she knows she was thinking it. she knows she was implying it. she didn't know that he was going to say it. it was so sudden too, and so casually, that she can't help but to bring a hand to her face and rub as she grumbles. she'll ignore it. pretend it never happened. in fact, pay attention to what was happening now. mm.. maybe sulking was a better outcome over upset or tired, but this still needed a bit of work. "your guess is honestly as good as mine.." she hums, crossing her arms before glancing to the pangoro who sits to the left of the room. "i can try to see what's up with that pangoro there. maybe you can see what's up with the other one?" she tilts her head, and with that, she's off to go have a little chat.[break][break]

she tries to bring out mingqiu out to cheer it up with some humming and song, but otherwise, hr attempts are fruitful no matter how she tries to talk to it. so she turns to look over her shoulder to dal, who seemed to be.. standing by his panda. "any luck on your end?"

Breathing in a deep, yet slower and lazier breath, he merely gave a hum in response and agreement as she went off to interact with the other Pangoro. The breath escaped his lips within a soft, elongated sigh of exasperation as he walked a small distance to meet with the one he’d apparently been assigned with.[break][break]

”Hm~...” he hummed to himself, giving an idle half glance over his shoulder; his gaze focused upon the greens off to his side more than the surroundings behind him, though calling out across the clearing soon after. ”Not seeing much wrong here, but it would be awkward if these breeders didn’t have much progress because the Pangoro were the same gender, wouldn’t it~?”[break][break]

Chuckling, he quirked his lip while looking back towards his own quarry, crossing his arms.[break]
…He narrowed his eyes after the words he’d intended to be a joke properly sank in.[break][break]

”...The one you're looking at is female, right?”

a timer goes off in the woman's head, and her brows furrow as she glances back at the pangoro she's just dealt with. bringing her hands to her face, she raises her head, slightly, to release an exasperated sigh. "no damn wonder they wouldn't breed..!" her exasperation is boundless. shortly after her groan, she walks to the man to grab his hand (she was aiming at his wrist, but that works too) to tug him with her out of the room, only letting go once they're out. she's so quick to turn to the breeder.[break][break]

"they're both male. go get a female pangoro. get two, i dunno. problem solved, case closed, thank you and goodbye." she doesn't want to be rude, nor sudden, but she just can't believe that they were called to get two pandas to breed - when they were both males. no fucking wonder. oh my god--

…Oh, that silence was foreboding.[break][break]

He would reiterate that it was a joke, but the silence that came after the question he’d asked was telling in itself. His eyes remained upon the bear before him. He did his best to dismiss the attempt of a joke he made.[break][break]

A sigh escaped his lips as her response rung through the air, though, and he offered little resistance upon hearing her footsteps trail towards him again.[break][break]

”And this is what I get for joking, for once~...” he murmured with a low, exasperated sigh and smile of amusement. Swept alongside her with hand in hand, he closed his eyes for a brief moment before opening them just in time to give the two employees overseeing them a coyly entertained glare in passing.[break][break]

He gave them both a shrug and a small salute with a flick of his fingers before being pulled into the hallway, and quickly after the woman accompanying spoke her part, he eyed her (subtly relishing the disdain she’d seemed more than glad to express) and gave an idling hum of amusement..[break][break]

they both leave, suddenly, abruptly. once they arrive outside, the woman keeps a narrowed glare as she starts to release his hand. the irritation wasn't lost in her; her time was wasted, more or less. she thought that she was going to be busy, seeing that this job might have taken a bit longer (considering that they didn't even know where to start with this), but here she was, wheezing softly at the result. [break][break]

"that's because" she could have used the day to go on a longer date, instead, she's about to say. he definitely won't shut up about it if she said it "it could have been an easy solution to be solved.." she grumbles instead. "ah.. whatever." she groans, bringing a hand to gently press her fingers against her forehead ".. we can go grab lunch or something with the time we have."
