Daaaaamn. Elisabeth Fiorelli sure keeps busy, huh?

When looking at the great maze that extends before her, Ceri finds herself wolf-whistling (a skill she learned from a frat boy one night at a party during her earlier university days) while her hands rest on her hips. The Salandit beside her stands on his hind legs as if trying to get a better look, but neither trainer nor pokémon happens to be tall enough to look over the initial hedge wall that surrounds the verdant labyrinth – not even if the lizard were to stand atop of her head.

”Domino, babe, try not to burn any of the hedges, ya? We don’t want Elisabeth to get mad.” Ceri tells her Salandit when turning to look at him, a single finger being raised. And, in response, ever-mischievous Domino huffs out a single flame, causing her to chuckle in amusement.

”Fine, fine.” She picks him up, as if he were no more than a toy or a teacup pup to put in her purse, and yes, she actually does put him in her purse – only his dark head popping out of the stylish handbag while seeming all too comfortable with his new situation. Spoilt, that’s what Domino is and will always be.

So, with a corrosive lizard now in bag, Ceri steps forward through the entrance to the maze, choosing to go right because… well… why not, right?

THE FIRST CHECKPOINT

The Salandit in your purse earns a quick glance from the Roselia, who peers as if checking this tiny Pokemon won't be a troublemaker. Satisfied, she lets out a soft huff of begrudging approval.

Regardless, the Roselia guarding this first of many choices nods, bowing as she steps aside to let you enter your chosen path. The other closes abruptly in a curtain of moss and vines at the Pokemon's behest, unable to be retread.

Your choice at the first checkpoint is decided; your path is set.

THE PATH LESS TRAVELED BY

As you advance deeper into the maze, flowers of every hue blossom and unfurl around you, as if celebrating your passage deeper into the leafy foliage. Sunlight spills forth through the crevices of leaves and branches, at last revealing a Lilligant who stands before you.

She elegantly curtseys with a smile, as if she has been long awaiting your presence. In her leafy hands, she holds a boxed gift:

Behind her another choice awaits you: a winding, looping path to the left, and a narrow and snaking path to the right.

”Oh! Are you Elisabeth’s Roselia? What a cutie! Domino, doesn’t she remind you of Tinne?” Ceri chuckles when seeing the pokémon, ever-amused and seeming completely impervious to its judgmental reluctance. The black and white Salandit seems to chuckle as well, as if having just been told a joke only understood by the two of them.

See, Tinne happens to be Ceri’s own Roserade, and the joke here lies in the fact that Tinne can be a prickly little bitch sometimes.

”See ya later, Tinne Jr!”

Off they go into the maze, and check it out… she apparently picked the right path, since make it through the first checkpoint without a problem! Pass, baby!

”This one’s a cutie too!”
[break][break]
Which Elisabeth Fiorelli’s Lilligant sure is! And much sweeter than the Roselia too!

Ceri finds herself beaming down at the Grass type when taking the offered gift, while Domino, in turn, huffs out some embers while snickering to himself. ”Woah! Play nice! Gosh, Domi, this is why I don’t take you places… Let’s get out of here before you burn something.”

A sigh and off they go, to the right once more.

THE SECOND CHECKPOINT

You receive no such scrutiny from the Lilligant in this clearing, who seems delighted by the sight of you and your Salandit both.

Smiling, the Lilligant that guards this second checkpoint bobs her head in silent understanding, stepping aside to let you enter your chosen path. The other closes abruptly in a curtain of moss and vines at the Pokemon's behest, unable to be retread.

Your choice at the second checkpoint is decided; your path is set.

THE PATH LESS TRAVELED BY

A gentle wind bearing dandelion spores draws you further into the maze, sticky with sweet pollen. It tickles your nose, leaving it no surprise when the bend turns to reveal a joyful Jumpluff standing before you.

She chirps with apparent delight at your arrival, hopping up and down upon a boxed gift that she urges towards you:

Behind the blue Pokemon another choice awaits you: a circuitous path to the left, and a deceptively straight, arrow-like path to the right.

A sound all too common of Ceri Glynn is the one she makes when she finds herself to be successful at something. One step, two steps, three steps, and on they go through their path, apparently reaching no exit or dead end.

What they find instead are dandelion spores being carried by breeze, that smile of hers becoming even brighter and more gleeful at the sight of the Jumpluff.

”Awwww! Aren’t you a sweetie! I just wanna squish you~”
[break][break]
Naturally, she resists the urge for the sake of Elisabeth Fiorelli’s pokémon, but she does try to gently and lovingly pinch its cheeks if the Jumpluff were to allow her to do so. It’s then that she grabs the box.

”Alright! Onwards and upwards and all that! ” Ceri exclaims, full of motivation, and when she stands before her next choice, she simply steps forward without hesitation…

THE PATH LESS TRAVELED BY

You sense that this far in the maze, there are less and less other individuals nearby; you have gotten far indeed, and it shows when you come upon the faintly surprised look on a regal, dignified Tsareena's face. From her slightly bored appearance, the Tsareena has been waiting here for some time for company.

The Grass-type Pokemon strides forward towards you on her long legs, holding forth yet another box to award you for your efforts:

Behind the elegant Grass-type Pokemon another choice awaits you: a path to the left cast in the shade of a canopy of ivy, and a bright, sunny path to the right riddled with sunflowers.

Another choice made, another checkpoint passed. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

So would Ceri like to claim, but in reality she knows well that it’s mostly a matter of luck… Or a matter of the whims of Elisabeth Fiorelli’s pokémon, maybe? Like if they’re the professors who decide which multiple choice answer is the right one, and she’s the hangover student who didn’t study and only picks ‘B’ in the hopes of at least getting some right. Weird, she has never been in that position until now.

Still, the thought makes her giggle, meeting the awaiting Tsareena with a bright smile.

”D’aw, aren’t you gorgeous? I’d love to have some thigh high boots like those.” Pokémon-inspired fashion? Always a favourite of hers, honestly. ”Oh! Let’s take some pics while we’re here!”

And so she does, including a selfie with her Salandit and Elisabeth’s Tsareena before finally taking the gift offered by the pokémon and waving goodbye.

At this point, it’s like she has to pick right by mere principle. So, she does.

As you take the selfie, the Tsareena blinks slowly, as if unable to tell if she should be flattered or annoyed at being in your photo.

With her head held high, the Tsareena gracefully steps aside to let you enter your chosen path. The other closes abruptly in a curtain of moss and vines at the Pokemon's behest, unable to be retread.

THE PATH LESS TRAVELED BY

A thrill of the unknown fills you as you sense you have almost found the heart of the hedge maze, leading you at last to a place where a pink mist blankets the terrain in a soothing, rosy fragrance. It suffuses a beautiful Florges like a blushing cloud.

The flowery Pokemon beckons towards you with a leafy hand, holding forth yet another box to award you for your efforts:

This time, there is nothing to differentiate the twin paths behind the Fairy-type Pokemon: nothing betrays the distinction between the path to the right or the left.

”Look at that, Domino! I think we’re almost at the end!”

She sounds amused, perhaps entertained – a grin illuminating her expression as she crouches down to look at the tendrils of smoke that extend towards them from beneath hedges. Pink fog. Probably a MISTY TERRAIN.

Ceri touches it, and her Salandit sniffs around in curiosity, crawling out of the bag and onto the mist-covered ground.
[break][break]
”Oop… Don’t wander off. Would be bad to lose you in the mist....”
[break][break]
Like a stubborn child, Domino huffs out a flickering flame, skittering off and forcing Ceri to follow with a defeated yet ever delighted chuckle.
[break][break]
What they find is a Florges with another gift for them, and when before the Garden Pokémon, Domino proudly stands on his hind legs – as if attempting to make up for an impossible height difference.
[break][break]
”Don’t mind him, he’s being silly.” She picks up the little lizard, a sound smooch being placed atop of his head and causing him to squirm in return. Ceri laughs, of course, taking the gift and turning her attention to the paths before them.
[break][break]
”Guess this is it. What do you say, Domino, right again?” The Salandit is under her arm, lying limp and defeated after all of his wiggling gave no results. Clearly, he doesn’t care about what choice Ceri makes, and he makes this obvious with the biggest yawn he can manage. ”Fiiiine… Whatever happens happens!”
