If Calvin notices the Skrelp, he doesn't acknowledge it— In fact, it's much more likely that he doesn't notice, with how engrossed he is now in talking to Streusel. Everything around him sort of blends together if not entirely in his face, with how new (and, frankly, a tad overwhelming) being out in the wilderness is. He wonders idly if his life as a Ranger would accompanhy this sort of thing— And he excitedly concludes that yes, it would. After all, he'd be working with wild Pokemon, and wild Pokemon lived out in the wild! Duh.

Suddenly, a Sylveon skitters into his line of sight, and the shock of pink and white fur against the greenery of the route is enough to draw his attention. He comes to a halting stop as the wild Pokemon sniffs at a berry bush, almost as if none the wiser to the Ranger staring her down. She's adorable! He doesn't think he's ever seen a Pokemon so cute before... Other than Streusel, of course, but still! This is so exciting! "Aw, man, look! A Sylveon!" He remarks as much to his Flapple, tuning out Streusel's answering cry.

[break][break]Suddenly, he's hit with the urge to try and catch the Eeveelution. He doesn't have much battling experience, truth be told... Battling had been prohibited on the farm, and he had been acquainted with Streusel since he was a mere Applin fresh out of an egg, but he knew enough about trainers to know they typically weakened Pokemon before lobbing a Pokeball at them. He runs a hand through his shaggy hair, perplexed on what to do about the situation.

[break][break]Eventually, he sucks in a breath. "Streus, erm... Use a move! Any of 'em will do!" is what he ends up commanding, his voice wavering with his lack of confidence. Oh, well. Streusel behaves, at least, sending a Grav Apple to the poor fairy-type— Calvin can't help wincing himself when the large fruit conks Sylveon on the head. He quickly tosses out a Pokeball, wanting to at least attempt to catch it quick so that he could heal it up in apology. Sorry Sylveon.
