It was just another morning of going to check on the Gracedia Flower that he had growing. And much to his surprise, the Gracedia Flower had bloomed much earlier than expected. Pulse, who had followed him to the area of the garden, spotted the Gracedia, and cheered happily, bearhugging his master. Thomas would hug the Audino back, picking up the little guy, and giving him a loving nuzzle, before putting him down.

As he went to inspect the beautiful flower, he'd witness the blooming of many beautiful flowers, and the gentle shift of the earth, as a strange white stone emerged.

Could the legends be true, after all?

GRATITUDE AMONG FLOWERS

BEFORE YOU, THE STONE LAYS BARE. However, if you were to look closely, you would begin to see the words beginning to etch themselves on the top of the stone. As morsels of stone fall from its pristine face to reveal a simple command:[break]

TO WHOM ARE YOU THANKFUL?

Flowers begin to visibly grow around the rock, curling gently like affectionate bracelets. They curve toward the rock face like arrows.

Thomas looked on as the words etched themselves into the stone. There were a lot of people for whom he was thankful for. But ultimately, one name came out in the moment.

"dahlia goode. Thank you for everything you've done for me, even if it wasn't easy. Thank you for your understanding.", , he would say to the stone.

Despite public appearances, Thomas still held the Commissioner in high regard, after everything. She did give him a chance after what happened in Slateport, after all. And even if he was no longer with the League, he'd still defend her from the shadows.

GRATITUDE AMONG FLOWERS

THE STONE ACCEPTS YOUR NAME(S). Suddenly, the wind billows around you, carrying with it, the softest spring scent. Petals are cradled in these gossamer gales. Colors swirl around, the displaced flowers like gentle jewels painted by nature's own brush.[break]

The GRACIDEA FLOWER is uprooted. Gently. It beckons for you to take it carefully within your hands. As soon as you do, a path of flowers erupts from the stone's northern face. It extends far and into the air. A magical bridge connects Hoenn to a fantastical place hidden by the power of canonized gratitude.

Follow the bridge. Quickly, before it disappears underneath your feet.

As the Gracedia is uprooted, Thomas gently takes the flower in his hand. Despite his large size, his grab is very gentle and precise. Suddenly, a bridge of flowers erects, extending to the skies above. Quickly, Thomas runs up the path. Realizing that it's beginning to fade, and that he can't stay the path on foot, he brings out his Scolipede, and quickly gets on his back.

"Up the path!", Thomas tells the large insect with great urgency.

The Scolipede begins to dash up the path, his own speed far greater than his master's foot speed. Despite this, the path is quickly fading, to the point where Scolipede's current speed wouldn't be enough. "Agility!", Thomas calls out frantically. The Scolipede begins to quickly pick up a substantial boost in his speed.

The boost in the massive insects speed seems to do the job, allowing the Scolipede to move up the path quickly enough so that they don't end up falling off of it mid-climb.

GRATITUDE AMONG FLOWERS

YOU FOLLOW THE FLORAL BRIDGE. With every step, the flowers spring out beneath you taking root in nothing but air. However, the garden trail behind you disappears. Flowers fade into green bokeh— perhaps, the residue of some fantastical grass-type energy. By the end of this seemingly endless trail, you find yourself seemingly high above the clouds. And in a secluded airborne island.

In its center, the island's field is filled with GRACIDEA FLOWERS, but there are stretches of dirt that are devoid of any plant. Any root. However, something stirs in the flowery abode.

Whatever it is, you are compelled to find it with your own GRACIDEA FLOWER in hand.

OBJECTIVE:

STONE WRITING

write a post that has your trainer's pokemon using ODOUR SLEUTH or SWEET SCENT to find the hidden Shaymin. You must also find the Shaymin in the image above. Once you have found it, please DM or PM shiv on Discord or the Site with the location of the Shaymin.

The journey up the flowery path to the heavens was a harrowing one. As Thomas looked back, he'd notice the trail of flowers eroding from behind him. Thankfully, the deceptively agile Scolipede went the distance, managing to make it up to the island in the sky before the path completely eroded under them.

Thomas got off the back of the venomous insect, patting him on the head affectionately. "You did great, buddy. Thank you.", he told the Scolipede, giving him a moment of affection before recalling back to his Pokeball to rest.

Thomas wandered the island in the sky, taking in the beauty of the environment around him. He was in awe at what he was seeing. Finally, he'd come across the field of Gracidea Flowers. He would notice something hiding in the fields. He'd bring out his Arcanine, Rufus. "See if you can sniff out what's in the flowers with Odor Sleuth.", he'd tell the Arcanine.

The Arcanine would use Odor Sleuth to sniff around the field.

GRATITUDE AMONG FLOWERS

A SMALL HEDGEHOG EMERGES FROM THE FLOWERS. Lured or identified by you and your Pokémon's efforts, a Shaymin graces you with its gentle presence. In fact, several Shaymin appear from the kaleidoscope of petals and stem; however, one seems to take the reins by trotting right up to your feet.

The Shaymin raises its snout to the UPROOTED GRACIDEA FLOWER in your hands. With a swift pivot, the Gratitude Pokémon leads you to a stretch of loamy soil. It appears as if the Shaymin wants you to re-plant your flower there...

As the Arcanine identifies the presence of the rare Pokemon, several jump out from the plants, but one in particular, the one identified by Rufus, trots up to the trainer. Thomas, seeing the green hedgehog, smiles at the adorable creature. It sticks its snout up to the Gracedia, before guiding him towards a patch of loamy soil.

Thomas, using his phone, exchanges one of his Pokemon for his Diggersby, Bugs. The rotund rabbit is brought of his Pokeball. "Bugs, plant this flower in the patch of soil with Rototiller.", he tells the Ground-type.

With a nod, the Diggersby immediately gets to work, preparing the soil, before planting the Gracidea into the soil gently. The Diggersby is clearly skilled with this, having been used by Thomas around the Ranch, and the grounds, to plant many plants and flowers for his master.

AS YOU PLANT YOUR GRACIDEA FLOWER, the soil takes the roots graciously. This burgeoning plot is adorned with more color. More life. Seeing that you have accomplished a job well done, the Shaymin faces you in gratitude— and in contest.

It's green grass-like fur bristles. The flowers on its body open more wide, revealing their deepest colors. You gain the sense that the Shaymin would like to battle you to see if you are worthy of its companionship. However, there is a caveat outlined by the other hedgehogs.

You must not damage the flowers. You must fight with grace and care— but this does not mean the Shaymin is an easy fight. Crying out, it fires a potent SEED FLARE at you, a shockwave of energy bursting from its small body and stopping right before the gracidea.

BATTLE SHAYMIN:

CAREFUL OF THE FLOWERS!

WITH EVERY POST, make a ROLL. you must hit or surpass a total of 100 to successfully battle the Shaymin without damaging the flowers.

Post in MODERATION REQUESTS once you have completed this step. shiv will respond with another MOD POST detailing what happens next.

With the flower planted in the soil, the Shaymin faces him in contest. Though he'd prefer not to harm such an adorable creature, it was clear that this was a far more powerful Pokemon than its appearance landed credence to. And rejecting the battle, after everything, would likely be an insult to the Shaymin.

So naturally, Thomas accepted the Shaymin's challenge, and brought out the Pokemon for the job, Ripper. The massive Scizor missed out on the last encounter with a Legendary. So this was Thomas' way of making it up to the insect, and to give him a test.

"Battle the Pokemon, but don't damage the flowers.", Thomas ordered.

The Scizor gave him a perplexed look, as if he was wondering if Thomas was seriously going to pair him up against a puny little hedgehog. But the Seed Flare immediately changed his tune. Caught off guard by the powerful shockwave, Ripper was briefly knocked down, before getting back to his feet, a grin plastered on his face.

"Remember, mind the flowers!", Thomas called out.

The Scizor immediately began strafing along the field, attempting to angle himself away from the flowers, before attacking. The Shaymin would take in sunlight, in order to stimulate Growth, and its strength. Meanwhile, Ripper would perform a Swords Dance in order to invigorate himself.

The Scizor would launch himself at the Shaymin with a ferocious Bullet Punch.

The Shaymin, despite appearances, is able to withstand the Bullet Punch with ease. In retaliation, the Shaymin sends the Scizor flying back with another Seed Flare. The Scizor flies back a considerable distance, but manages to catch himself, and land on his feet, albeit skidding back a considerable distance.

The Scizor's grin widens. A worthy opponent, if there ever was one.

The Shaymin wastes no time in firing off an Energy Ball at the large Scizor. The Scizor dodges to the side by throwing his weight behind a Bullet Punch, throwing it to the side, rather than towards his opponent. Anticipating where he'd land, the Shaymin fires off a Worry Seed towards the Scizor, afflicting the Scizor with Insomnia, and nullifying his Technician ability, thus his affinity for lighter attacks.

Despite this, the Scizor remains defiant against the Mythical Pokemon. The Shaymin fires off a volley of Magical Leaves, which hone in on the Scizor, despite any evasive maneuvers he'd take. Recognizing the glow of the Magical Leaves, the Scizor instead charges through them, allowing them to scratch into his exoskeleton, before attempting to grab the Shaymin with his pincer, and clamp down on it with a Bug Bite.

Shaymin saw the Bug Bite coming, and deftly leaped out of the path of the oncoming attack. And in response, the Shaymin would begin to channel energy into the earth below Scizor. The Earth Power managed to send the Scizor flying into the air, before causing him to land with a thud.

"Ripper, don't give up!", Thomas called out.

The Scizor got back up to his feet, staring down the Shaymin. The small, green Pokemon offered no taunts, only staring down the massive Scizor down as well, waiting for his next move. The Scizor, realizing that he'd have to play this out defensively, went back on the move. The Shaymin would once again launch a Seed Flare towards the Scizor. This time, the Scizor dodged the attack with a throw of a Bullet Punch to the side.

The Shaymin would continue its offense, attempting to blast out the ground from under the Scizor once again with Earth Power. This time, the Scizor was ready, using a Bullet Punch to get out of the blast area, and close in towards it. But rather than attack, he would instead fortify his defenses with Iron Defense, to ready himself for the onslaught that was to come.

The Shaymin attempted to blast the ground out from the Scizor once again with Earth Power. This time, the Scizor used a Bullet Punch to dash to safety, and closer to the Shaymin. In response, the Shaymin would attempt to launch an Energy Ball the Scizor's way, intent on catching the armored insect as he stopped. But the Scizor kept going, using dashes enhanced by the swings of his Bullet Punches to zip across the field, closing the distance towards the Shaymin, and dodging its volley of attacks.

Finally, with one last Bullet Punch, Ripper got in close on the Shaymin, and once again attempted to clamp down on the hedgehog with a Bug Bite from his pincer. This time, the Scizor successfully grabbed the Shaymin, clamping down on the hedgehog's body with his metal pincer repeatedly, before tossing it aside.
