Mars may be an observant person, but even the most observant people out there don’t spend every single second of their day analysing others, nor can they accurately predict everything going through someone’s mind when they haven’t known them for a long time. And so, sadly, whatever may make Georgette Bluebottle uneasy when speaking of Gyarados is ignored and dismissed, the banker instead smiling when his staff is praised by the gym leader. He’s pleased.

”I’m glad. Having the bank be accessible to everyone was the reason we opened branches in every town.” It’s more profitable, especially in a region divided by the sea, but of course he won’t bother with telling Georgette all of that.

And... It’s then that he’s momentarily distracted from the conversation.

A pokémon appears from among the trees. Another Unown... Or, what at first looks like another Unown. Mars’ gaze is immediately drawn to it, but he quickly realises something’s not right. It looks similar to his own Unown-G, to the point that Gravastar approaches with curiosity, but where the wild pokémon should stare at it with an unblinking eye, there’s… a smile.

”It’s a Ditto, G.” The Symbol Pokémon also seems to realise as much, and it also doesn’t seem pleased by the sight of the poor copy. HIDDEN POWER strikes the Ditto again and again, until it ends up on the ground as the semi-transparent amorphous blob that is its true form.

”Shame… I almost thought we had one.” Mars sighs then.

Georgette hums a note of acknowledgement of Mars's words about the bank, a vague smile touching her lips as she extends a hand to her Froslass. Checking the pokemon's maw and little hands, her attention is soon drawn to the appearance of an Unknown, eyes wide.

"That is what you want, no?" She asks hopefully to Mars, the woman watching as it battles with Gravastar. Her nose soon wrinkles on Mars's behalf, the small woman deflating. "Ah - next time!" Casting Mars a sympathetic look, a flicker of movement turns her focus onto a Beheeyem.

With a nod to Alouette she encourages, "Shadowball." The Froslass cackles hellishly as a sphere of light manifests between her hands, shooting several of the orbs at the Beheeyem to batter the creature. Tossing a pokeball soon after, Georgette lightly pats Mars's upper arm in sympathy.

"Do you have many?" She asks with a touch of curiosity before clarifying, "Unknown. Do they like to have other Unknowns around?"

It is disappointing, that much he will admit, because finding Unown is the entire reason why he keeps making the time for all these visits to the routes where Psychic types are known to live. He needs more of them.

Finding a Ditto, however, is a silver lining.

A new Ditto is always a good thing.
[break][break]
Mars doesn’t hesitate to throw a Luxury Ball at it when it falls, nor to retrieve the dark sphere and put it away where it will be safe. The Unown-G’s gaze remains fixed on it until it disappears from sight, almost as if it were trying to make sure the impostor is actually gone.

”I have over twenty of them.” Twenty-one, actually. That much is no secret, and he sees no reason not to tell Georgette. To be honest, his Unown collection has become a point of pride to Mars. He’s attached. ”I’m trying to collect all twenty-eight forms.”

The truth is that he’ll catch any Unown he finds, but forms that he doesn’t have are always preferable. There are some duplicates he really does want. Either way, they’re all more potential entries for the report, and that’s what matters the most.

”They do like being in groups, actually.” A slight, ever so faint smile tugs at Mars’ lips, and when he extends a hand towards the Unown-G, the Symbol Pokémon floats closer, bumping against it. ”It’s almost like they’re drawn to one another. They’re always stronger when they’re in groups.”

Georgette blinks once in surprise as she listens, her voice soft as she repeats, "Twenty eight!" She then laughs, her smile one of utmost encouragement as she muses, "But you are close, no? Twenty already!" She then nods, her attention shifting to the Unown-G that floats nearer as she offers, "Hopefully this will attract one for you, no?"

With a hum, her attention is turned to a rustling in the grass, a Buneary revealing herself from the brush. Ears twitching, the little Buneary hops closer with curiosity. "Bonjour," Georgette breathes out warmly, the woman kneeling down to settle herself at eye-level with the rabbit.

As the Buneary hops closer Georgette holds out her hand, a warm smile offered before she questions, "Would you like to come with me? I think you would like my garden, no?" A pokeball is offered to the Buneary before Georgette looks back up to Mars.

"Not an Unknown, but maybe the Buneary knows where one is," she laughs out.

”You’d think so, right? Sadly, they’re a lot harder to find than what people expect.” He laughs, because of course he does. After almost a year of searching for Unown, Mars has learned to temper his expectations when it comes to the Symbol Pokémon. He’s as patient as he is stubborn, and that means that he’ll keep at this even if it takes a month to find a single one.

When leaves rustle, the Unown that is by his side pays it little mind, but both Mars and his Alolan Raichu watch the scene – a slight smile reaching his lips when seeing Georgette interact with the Buneary.

”You know what… Maybe you’re right. Let’s ask.” He humours her mostly for the sake of having a good time, and so is that Mars turns his attention to the Buneary. It’s slightly that he leans down to be closer to it; his gaze fixed on the pokémon as he addresses it while gesturing towards his Unown-G:

”Say, Buneary, have you seen any pokémon like this one around here?”

Georgette smiles softly, a laugh spilling from her lips as Mars takes the proverbial bait and questions her newly caught Buneary. She quite appreciates someone willing to inject a bit of levity into what must certainly be a frustrating hunt for the man - they've been out here for hours and seen neither hide nor hair of an Unknown. Unfortunately, the Buneary merely tilts its head curiously to the side, a few small hops taken towards the east before it simply flops down onto the ground.

Her hand pressing to her lips to quell any sound, Georgette recalls the Buneary as she tries not to laugh, her head shaking. She supposes the poor pokemon tried - if not very hard.

From the thick grass then emerges a Kirlia, which her Froslass takes a Draining Bite out of, followed by an Ice Beam. Once her pokeball has been thrown to capture the Kirlia, she pauses as her phone chimes. Expression thoughtful, a few moments later she announces with a touch of disappointment, "It seems I am needed back on the farm."

Looking up from the device, she murmurs warmly, "But I am glad to have seen you again, no? Take care, and good luck on your search!"
