Their search would continue on. Rally would trek through the tall grass, while Nova floated high above the treetops to get an aerial view. Both were determined to catch a Pokemon, though, hopefully the next one wouldn't be as delicious.

Unfortunately, the next Pokemon was a Togepi. Rally found the thing sleeping next to a tree stump. He approached it with soft, careful footsteps, so as not to wake it up. He drew his Safari Ball and...

And Nova immediately swooped down to lick the poor egg Pokemon. Startled, the Togepi started to whimper in fear. Unlike Cherubi though, it didn't move; it was already Paralyzed from the attack. If nothing else, this would make it easy pickings for Rally's PokeBall.

Rally took a step back, only to hear horrible squealing. He jumped up and looked behind him to discover a female Nidoran. The poor creature held its front paw and let out a cry of pain.

"Oh, shit!"

Rally knelt down to pat the creature on its head. "I'm sorry. Are you oka-"

It won't be for long, because in came Nova! Sensing an opportunity for an easy battle, the Gastly fired off a Shadow Ball. It flew right by Rally and hit the wild Pokemon, knocking it back several feet. It let out another cry before its body slammed into a tree.

Rally looked at his Gastly angrily. But on the other hand, he also drew out a PokeBall to capture the Pokemon. He'd have to check on Nidoran later, but capturing it meant he could take it to the Pokemon Center without any resistance.

The Pokemon was captured! Rally lifted the Nidoran's PokeBall and examined the Ball. He considered letting it out to check on it, but maybe it would have been best to heal it first. He didn't want to risk getting poisoned... But then again, the Pokemon was hurt. A little sickness was worth helping it.

But before he could release the Pokemon, he felt something sharp hit the back of his head. He fell to the ground and looked up to see that a Fletchling had appeared. An the Pokemon immediately dove down to attack him once again. Rally covered his face with his arms, and they took the brunt of the Pokemon's vicious attacks.

Ever the Loyal Pokemon, Nova intervened. For his first act, he opened his mouth and swallowed the bird whole. Unfortunately, being a ghost meant that he had intangibility issues, especially when dealing with Normal types; the bird Pokemon simply fazed through his body and went back to attacking Rally.

Next up: Dark Pulse. Before the Pokemon reached Rally, a dark, eerie blast hit the bird. The Pokemon was sent flying a few feet and was forced to land on the nearby stump.

This gave Rally a chance to stand on his feet and get ready for the next attack. Rally pulled a hand down to his pants and grabbed a PokeBall. Just before the Pokemon could reach his face again, he pulled the ball upward. The Fletchling's beak hit the button on the PokeBall, forcing it open. The little bird was immediately sucked inside.
