Rally and his Haunter, Nova, pushed everyone else aside and ran towards the water. It was like that one scene in Finding Nemo, probably. I don't know, I didn't watch the whole movie.

Success! Rally jumped over the rocks and reached down to collect Lunatone's PokeBall. But the moment his hands touched the Ball, A jaw full of gnashing teeth rose out of the sand. He was lucky to pull back just in time to keep himself, and the Ball, from being bitten.

This was... Gible, right? The Champion of a faraway region used its fully evolved form. Absolutely worth the capture.

"Nova, Dark Pulse!"

Haunter nodded. It puts its hands together and aimed its palms at the wild Pokemon. This time, a black, swirling ball of energy flew forwad and struck the Gible. Gible was knocked back a solid foot, but it landed on its feet and glared at Nova.

The dragon opened its mouth. A spinning storm of supernatural wind blasted from its maw. Twister blustered forth, hitting Nova in return.

While the battle raged on, Rally grabbed a PokeBall from his pocket. Time to catch this cuck.

Right as Rally passed by the Binacle, he saw something in the distance. Floating above the rocks and back towards the grassy meadows, a Lunatone appeared. Now that was a Pokemon people would like to see.

Rally nodded to his Haunter. Nova floated towards the Pokemon, Shadow Ball in hand. Nova let out a cry, drawing the Pokemon's attention. The moment the Lunatone looked back, a Shadow Ball fired right at it. The Pokemon floated backwards and winced in pain, caught completely off-guard by the attack.

And with that, Rally pulled out a PokeBall. "Time to say good night, moon."

Next, Rally looked around the Zone's watery beachside. Rocks, large and small, dotted the sands, making it somewhat of a treacherous trip. But he hopped from stone to stone, looking for something to catch. Something that would draw attention to the Park.

Something like Binacle?

Ew, no. Pass.

After searching for some time, the duo didn't find anything. So with a heavy sigh, the trainer sat down on a nearby rock - one he was familiar with from his last visit, if anyone remembered that. No? Okay.

He wasn't having any luck. Not here, not outside in the wilds, not with life. Sure, he scored with Spyro. But Spyro wasn't a Pokemon. He couldn't catch him and put him on display in the Park.

Rally threw his hands up in defeat. And it was at that time that he felt something hit the back of his arm, and heard something plop to the ground. To his shock, he now saw a passed-out Rowlet on the ground. A Rowlet he (apparently) defeated by accident. He killed one bird with one stone. Oops.

... He could apologize to it at home. It'd enjoy living at the Park.

And suddenly, inexplicably, more Pokemon would appear. While this newcomer was quick to act, both Rally and his Gastly were left stunned. They watched for what felt like two months, just looking at the other trainer. Instinctively, they entered a battle and knocked their foe aside.

Rally didn't even notice the Shroomish until it headbutted him in the leg. He jumped back and looked at the grumpy, tiny Pokemon by his feet. Maybe this was his chance to catch something, as well. He looked to his Gastly and said, "Shadow Ball!"

The ball of shadow hit the ball of grumpiness, knocking it off its feet. And instead of fighting back, the Shroomish... just sort of wiggled its legs around violently. It was stuck on its back and unable to move. Evidently, it wasn't as strong as the Ribombee from earlier.

Rally readied a PokeBall. "Alright. One more Hypnosis, and we should get it."

Nova nodded its body, then floated over to the Pokemon. Their eyes transfixed, the Shroomish would begin to feel drowsy, and Rally would throw a PokeBall at the Pokemon's exposed rear end.

Alright, round 2 in the Safari Zone. While Rally would need to catch as much Pokemon as possible, he needed to prioritize the most rare to attract visitors. The Park was losing money with just the seven Pokemon he had.

Tyrogue was his second encounter. Unique, special, and something that could grow up to be a strong battler. So Rally readied a PokeBall, then prepared to catch his new target.

Unfortunately, Nova was all too eager to help. The Pokemon fired a Dark Pulse forward, and the Tyrogue sent flying through the trees and bushes, never to be seen again.

Fug. Okay, the third time will be better. It has to be.

Wynaut? Cute, unique, special, but not something that would wow crowds. Still, it'd be great for his PokeDex. So Rally readied a PokeBall, then looked to Nova. "Alright, Shadow Ball."

The Haunter grinned and nodded its body, Its hands came together, and from them, a ball of energy formed. It flew several feet forward and hit the Wynaut's face. The Pokemon was sent flying through the trees and bushes, never to be seen again.

Okay, maybe defeating that Pupitar gave them too much experience. Nova might be a little too strong for this mission.

Okay, don't pay attention to any of these losers. Rally was coming in like a hurricane, carrying a Togepi in his arms while a Haunter flew in beside him. They stormed the Absol, all three of them holding out PokeBalls and ready to capture a new friend. But with all this other competition around, would they be so lucky?

Several attacks later, and Pupitar would also go down to one of Rally's Pokemon. Content with its victory, Clay spun its body around and finished off with a bow. Its first big battle was a success.

But a sound could be heard through the sand, calling them in further. The trio were drawn deeper into the desert by a siren's call. Soon, they would encounter the dulcet sounds created by a Flygon's wings.

Dang. It wasn't a Trapinch, but they were getting close. But on the other hand, they'd have to deal with a Pokemon that was much too strong for them to handle. Catching was out of the question, but maybe they'd be able to at least defeat it.

Time for a feminine touch. Rally drew a PokeBall from his pocket. "Mage, Flatter!"

With a second Shadow Ball and a finishing Dark Pulse, the Graveler had fainted. The Pokemon would roll away, deeper into the desert's swirling sandstorm.

A few minutes of venturing would bring forth another Pokemon. This time, a Pupitar was spotted, resting against the rocks. And though Gordy would have liked to catch it, Rally had a different idea. He had his eyes set on something else.

So he'd pass up this capture. But he wasn't going to pass up the battle. This time, the man cast a PokeBall forward and released Clay the Baltoy. "Clay, Psybeam!"
