Boys had one thing on their mind, and it was freaking beautiful: Trapinch. Yes, there were many Pokemon out in Hoenn's desert. But few were so adorable, or so popular, as the beloved would-be dragon. A Pokemon even found in his home region of Unova, and an interesting Pokemon for his Park.

With Go-Goggles over his eyes, and his Haunter floating by his side, the young man entered the desert of Route 111, searching for his prize Pokemon. Or whatever that may find its way to him.

As Rally stepped forward, he felt something rumble beneath his foot. Something was rising up from the sand, and he only had a couple of seconds to jump off before it completely rose.

It was a Graveler; another Pokemon found in his home region, and one he liked. A strange, but appealing Pokemon with a rocky body, four arms, and strong attacking power. While it might not have been the most exotic Pokemon, as it appeared in nearly every region, it would prove to be a strong opponent.

Perhaps this was better than a Trapinch. Rally didn't need to catch it, but he needed the experience. Forgoing his capture lust, he instead decided to accept it as an opponent.

"Nova, Shadow Ball!"

With a second Shadow Ball and a finishing Dark Pulse, the Graveler had fainted. The Pokemon would roll away, deeper into the desert's swirling sandstorm.

A few minutes of venturing would bring forth another Pokemon. This time, a Pupitar was spotted, resting against the rocks. And though Gordy would have liked to catch it, Rally had a different idea. He had his eyes set on something else.

So he'd pass up this capture. But he wasn't going to pass up the battle. This time, the man cast a PokeBall forward and released Clay the Baltoy. "Clay, Psybeam!"

Several attacks later, and Pupitar would also go down to one of Rally's Pokemon. Content with its victory, Clay spun its body around and finished off with a bow. Its first big battle was a success.

But a sound could be heard through the sand, calling them in further. The trio were drawn deeper into the desert by a siren's call. Soon, they would encounter the dulcet sounds created by a Flygon's wings.

Dang. It wasn't a Trapinch, but they were getting close. But on the other hand, they'd have to deal with a Pokemon that was much too strong for them to handle. Catching was out of the question, but maybe they'd be able to at least defeat it.

Time for a feminine touch. Rally drew a PokeBall from his pocket. "Mage, Flatter!"
