the last time he had this chansey do something big was during one of the trips to the lilycove museum's curator if he remembers correctly.

kyle's not exactly sure if it's been its anniversary already or not, but he's going to celebrate it regardless. there was only one thing that it did during that time, and it was to sing.

"oh, yeah, do your songbird impression," kyle tells his pokemon. "sing like snow white."

it was like he was mocking his pokemon, but he definitely wasn't. even then, it's a pokemon. it wouldn't get the references. either way, it starts to sing to get the pokemon to come to them.

the singing has attracted an equally dainty pokemon that fit the songbird theme they were going for.

"a kirlia? that's useful."

before kyle can take the option to think if it's worthy for a capture, the chansey acts first. perhaps it's startled by its sudden appearance, as it basically teleported in.

an egg bomb gets taken out of its pouch and then thrown at the psychic-type. as quickly as it got in the scene, it teleports away.

kyle sighs.

a girafarig with an eggant berry on its mouth walks in. the commotion has attracted it apparently, as the chansey has not returned back to singing.

kyle looks at his chansey to see what it's next course of action, though nothing aggressive seems to come from it. it wasn't started, so the correlation with it with his pokemon's behavior sinks in.

there's relief with not encountering a battle when it's not needed. kyle's not exactly training his pokemon anyways.

a rattata comes rolling in with its flame wheel, approaching them like it has a flame body.

kyle is surprised, but not panicked. he's used to using pokemon with fast reflexes and heightened senses. unfortunately, his chansey was neither.

in its panic, the healer gets egg bomb after egg bomb out of its pouch to defend itself against the charging rattata. they weren't accurate, thanks to the pokemon's anxiousness, but the blowback of each move eventually threw the rattata away.

it stops rolling in its flame wheel eventually, dropping on the ground before them with a tired expression.

kyle drops a pokeball on its head from standing height, capturing the poor normal-type bombarded by his chansey's panicked response to a wild pokemon.
