Working with another scientist was always something to which Quinn looked forward. The exchange of ideas, the creation of hypotheses and conclusions based on data, but most importantly not being judged for being such a nerd about loving the former things. When someone from the League laboratories reached out to him to study the effects of weather on the mating of Pokémon, Quinn could hardly contain his excitement.

When the time came, he trekked into the Petalburg Woods with what was probably far too much equipment for such a simple endeavor. "I brought drinks and snacks, did you want anything?" Quinn asked James with a smile, as he worked on setting up the measuring equipment, hoping to make a good impression so he'd be invited to work on future collaborations.

"Something with caffeine..." Quinn did a quick mental inventory of the things he'd packed for the excursion, opening the cooler he'd brought along and extending the strangely-shaped can towards James. "Charja-cola work for you?" He asked with a smile, before returning to setting up the instruments.

"Well, the title of the email was certainly eye-catching!" Quinn giggled, tapping on the glass of his barometer to make sure the needle was working. "...but, I really was enticed by the chance to work with someone from the League laboratories, to be honest. You guys over there are kind of like rockstars compared to us at the Weather Institute."

"Intern or not, you were still chosen to work alongside some of the most brilliant minds Hoenn has to offer, that's huge!" Quinn smiled, not willing to let James downplay exactly how impressive his position with the League was. That was how he was, always looking on the positive side, no matter what.

"Jump ships?" His face scrunched up slightly in thought, never having considered that as a possibility before. "I don't think I would, to be honest. The Weather Institute has been good to me." Considering how young he was, Quinn had a rather large position at the institute and he couldn't overlook that.

"Besides, I'm lead on the weather machine project, and something like that is a dream come true. Imagine being able to control the weather? Sounds incredible." His voice clearly conveyed his excitement, having thought about such a thing for a long time.

Quinn couldn't help but chuckle at James' request. "It's more to prevent large-scale weather catastrophes from hitting Hoenn, buuuut...I could maybe calibrate it for a romantic evening for you and your partner." He offered a playful wink, grabbing onto his phone and looking over the reading that was being uploaded to the device.

"Everything seems good, and just in time." Quinn glanced up at the incoming insects, a small smile tugging at his lips as he watched them begin their mating season.
