his mom nicknamed him "Ish", which is a play on the untranslated origin of "Elisha".[break][break]

when he was around 3 years old, elisha's parents were killed by a raging pokemon. he was saved by a troop of passimian and adopted by them. he lived with them as a wildman until he was 12, when he eas resecued. A scientist who was colleagues with his parents decided to take him on as an apprentice, fascinated by the origins of his pokemon-ish way of understanding both humans and pokemon.[break][break]

he was born with an abnormal brain, which perhaps helped him to grow up so well among pokemon. It may also have helped his mentor to fast track him through years and years of missed schooling, since his lessons were tunneled around zoology(?) / mon-ology(?). He learned current theories before he could read or write them — a throwback to the days of apprenticeships. By the time he turned 15, if his life were a scifi tv show, he was a fully capable side character helper android partner thing in the field of pokemon behavior. [break][break]

His more pokemon behavior from his days in the wild has translated in an odd way. He was never able to grow accustomed to the presence of revenge and grudges in human society. In the honor-shame dynamics of pokemon, he displays incredible confidence, but with humans he avoids such things. He hasn't found anything to live for beyond survival, and since he can long longer just up and die tomorrow, he has nothing to stand for.[break][break]

He moves on from trauma rather quick. Grudges collapse the troop. The current troop doesn't need him, so moving on has become even more important. It gives him a sharp sense of humor, but his trouble with communicating stifles the reception. There are many things that he is oblivious to, as well.[break][break]

i based the "neither" in elisha's sexuality on zoology. i wanted to try writing him with an animal sexuality, so to speak, meaning that he doesn't have one (which includes asexuality and such). He doesn't exist on the sexuality spectrum because he wasn't raised in it (+ taking his behavior cues largely from his family's personal safari pokemon).[break][break]
