Gerald Kaiser is not the only recruit as of late that jayden has been involved in, but he does hold a particular interest to him. after all, he joins rocket not simply for himself but for those around him — for his sister. it reminds jayden of bryan delarosa , of which the boy is somewhat fond.

[break][break] jayden leaps down from a shipment container, where he was viewing the area from above.

[break][break] he is nimble and light on his feet — nearly silent.

[break][break] "kaiser," he said. "do you know what we're here for today?"

"yes."

[break][break] the answer that Gerald Kaiser gave was a sufficient one, considering that jayden hadn't expected much out of him to begin with. it was organization's nature to be vague about things such as this — whether it was because of personal satisfaction, or because of the fear that people may have been listening. in the case of the latter, however, jayden had taken care of it.

[break][break] for now, at least, no one would be listening in.

[break][break] "we've gotten a tip of an important shipment in a facility nearby. it's our job to intercept it and obtain the materials before the league does."

[break][break] a pause.

[break][break] "i figured it would be a good time to test your skills. now that you've gotten comfortable."

"tonight's shipment is a collection of weapons and armor — though nothing special, it gives the league an additional advantage that we would rather not have."

[break][break] a pause, as he considers the other.

[break][break] "as for the facility... i'll let you do the scouting on your own. you can tell me what you find."

[break][break] jayden already knew both the ins and outs of the facility that they planned to ambitious. he was curious — with the minimal information given — what the grunt would find.

much like the ghost-types he was so fond of, jayden all but melded into the background as the two made their way closer to the warehouse. his footsteps were near silent as he became the other's shadow, content to observe what jayden presumed to be the other's quality of work.

[break][break] sure enough, they came to a stop.

[break][break] when the decidueye scouted the area, he would find that the area was indeed vacant. strange, considering the fact that it was a warehouse... no guards, no pokemon, seemed stationed about. was there a reason for it?

[break][break] it would take time to find out...

[break][break] a bright light gleams in the distance of the warehouse window, almost begging to be sought after.

as it turns out, the light from the warehouse window is just a trick of the light. it's slightly cracked open, but the reflection of the sun shimmering into glass panes make it seem brighter than it is. when anyone draws near, one might be able to see that inside the warehouse, all that is invited is dusk.

[break][break] it is a strange thought indeed — perhaps the warehouse is abandoned. but that doesn't seem quite appropriate either, since there are plenty of trucks seated outside of the venue.

[break][break] where jayden stands beside Gerald Kaiser , he awaits the incoming silence with ease. he's sure that the pokemon will come back shortly, but in the meantime, why not make some small talk?

[break][break] though was it called small talk if you were trying to pry into your teammate's inner thoughts?

[break][break] "what do you think?" he says, face unexpressive. "did we make a mistake coming here?"

as the decidueye reports that there is little to be found in the warehouse's interior, jayden is focused more on Gerald Kaiser's impression and how the grunt takes to the news. when the latter looks at him, his expression remains thoughtful.

[break][break] in situations such as these, there are a few actions that could be taken.

[break][break] if there was no one in the warehouse, they could enter the vicinity and steal whatever they needed without issue. that being said, if they made an error in judgement, they could possibly walk into an ambush.

[break][break] thirdly, if needed, they could decide to the end the mission and explore the external vicinity in case there was something that they had missed.

[break][break] "what would you like to do, kaiser? you're taking point," he reminded.

jayden arches a brow.

[break][break] "do you think i — or rocket - would have you run on a red herring, gerald?"

[break][break] jayden knew he was being frustrating, but that was intentional. if he gave all the answers to the rookie, then what was the point in testing his skill?

[break][break] he held the man's gaze for a moment longer - steady, passive, unreadable.

[break][break] after a moment, he said, "i would say the tip is relatively trustworthy. though, there is no way of knowing until it is too late." a pause. "the question is gerald — do you trust me?"
