Oscar grinned, "Good because I'm starting development next week." Oscar took a sip of his drink, shooting Lulu the most mischievous expression he could muster. It was not a jest, Oscar was fully prepared to begin working on at least the pods asap. There was no time to delay, the world was ending after all.

Oscar put his glass on the desk, "Have you any new developments to share? I've been itching for an update."

Oscar chuckled lightly, "Don't tell Genesect the ship is made from its armor. I'm trying to teach it to have a sense of self, it might have an existential crisis if it knew the rocket was made the same way it was." Oscar chuckled again, giving Lulu a sly look. Oscar took a sip of his drink as he let his not-so subtle desire be known.

"Which is to say, I'd like to volunteer Genesect for the mission. Whenever it takes place that is. It does not need Oxygen, so it's a natural fit for extraterrestrial exploration. The choice is yours though." Oscar finished his drink, pouring himself another glass as he felt his body become warm. He had not enjoyed alcohol since his sickness began, so he would not be shy about his enjoyment.

He let out a satisfied sigh after another sip, "Who else do you have on board for this endeavor?"

she wondered how much genesect could understand of what went on around it. given that it was living, there was only so much programming that was truly observable.[break][break]

her own chuckle was soft as she raised her glass toward her lips again.[break][break]

”i won’t—but for the record, it won’t be quite the same armor. i’ve been experimenting; however, our discoveries from the exodus project do play a heavy role…”[break][break]

the offer of genesect for the potential space mission brought a surprised smile to her face.[break][break]

”are you sure?”[break][break]

actually… after what had happened to the submarine, was she so sure she was going to take him up on it? maybe it would occur to her later.[break][break]

at his question, she lowered her glass.[break][break]

”to go to space?” she presumed it was what he was asking. ”i haven’t requested anyone yet. i’m waiting to talk to walsh, before i reach out to any potential crew.”[break][break]

finally, she sipped, mulling it over and yet still keeping names to herself until she’d made her decision.[break][break]

”does anyone come to mind?”

Oscar sipped from his glass, looking upward as he thought of options. One came to mind almost instantaneously, "priam conrad. I want to see him go to space, it would be quite the experience." Oscar chuckled to himself, imagining Priam in a space suit working alongside Genesect. It would make for a humorous shenanigan if nothing else.

Oscar shrugged as he set his glass down, "Seriously though, Genesect is ready for this sort of task. I cannot imagine anything more capable of surviving the tribulations of space. Even if it did not have me to guide it, the creature's super-intelligence has many uses outside of hunting." Oscar was not sure why the idea of Genesect being apart of this space mission was so appealing to him. Perhaps he wanted to see how far Genesect had come from its days on its own, madly searching for purpose. Maybe he just thought it would be funny. Either way, he would stand by his proposal.

All this Genesect talk reminded him though--"Ah, can I get some of your notes from project Exodus. I have a dumb idea that can turn into a good idea if I get it right." Oscar picked up his glass and took a large gulp, suddenly feeling rather warm. "Oof, I gotta slow down I'm already buzzed."

she smiled, although it gave her mixed feelings. on one hand, he was reliable, capable. on the other, she would admittedly miss him if the mission went awry. she still hadn’t decided whether or not she wanted to go, herself. depending on the direction they ultimately went in, perhaps it wouldn’t be manned by people at all.[break][break]

”i’ll consider bringing it up to him as we move forward.”[break][break]

when oscar admitted to the beginnings of intoxication, lulu laughed, ”good. we’re celebrating.” and as it softened, she nodded, ”and of course you can have my notes.”[break][break]

she wondered then, ”what’s the idea, if you don’t mind me asking?”

Oscar clapped his hands, "Yes! Good then I can proceed. I wanna make prosthetics. Not just any prosthetics though, I'm talking Genesect prosthetics--but for humans. Like um, human prosthetics with Genesect tech. Sorry my brain is leaving me behind here."

It would seem Oscar was more susceptible to the Champaign then he first assumed, those months without drinking really did a number on his tolerance. Now that he thought about it though, how much of his sickness was from the Endless and how much was from alcohol withdrawal? Oh shit he just blew his own mind.

Oscar blinked as he realized he was staring into space, and poured himself another glass.

it was exciting, all of the things that were coming from the projects behind genesect. it was team rocket’s ultimate creation, maybe. an ace, from which their revolutionary technology was only expanding in the shadows.[break][break]

lulu, still too caught up in a lingering high and the bubbles of champagne, failed to notice oscar’s drifting off.[break][break]

”prosthetics? a new brilliant venture for GMH. have you by chance spoken to Raphael Pryde about?” rocket’s older head scientist was experienced with such technology, after all.

Raphael? Sheesh Oscar had never met the guy, but he had always wanted to work with him. This would be a fine excuse to do so. Oscar stretched, standing up as he slid his glass away. He cracked his neck casually before taking a very deep breath, "Alright Lulu, I gotta call it here. Got some work to do before sundown. I'll be in town for a few days so if you need me to come by I'm just a phone call away."

Oscar motioned to leave but stopped after half a step. "Oh, when do you think your device will be ready for a test? I am eager to see how it works. Best schedule that now while I'm here."
