Known as a rowdy bunch of hooligans. Expectations weren’t high for her or her family. Unfortunately for her, the family didn’t seem inclined to try to change that perception of themselves and so was content living a life of near poverty. [break][break] But Altagracia wanted more. She wanted the world to see her, and maybe her family in a better light, a clearer light. Sure they were rowdy, sure they had their issues. But they were good people. As a child she fought valiantly for her family’s reputation in her home region. [break][break] But she soon realized that it was a losing fight. Deciding that working harder didn’t do her any favors, she began to work smarter. She would show people! Maybe if she got a good degree, and spread the name of the Contreras around the world, then maybe people would look at them differently. [break][break] Well, she did get a degree in Pokémon Biology, her primary focus being the studies of Pokémon Ecology, and how changes in migratory habits cause changes in already existing ecosystems. And for a time all was good, she was content working in Unova for a while, until she started hearing rumors of Hoenn’s near-constant state of doomsday. [break][break] As a scientist she simply couldn’t let the chance of exploring why such things kept happening there escape her, and as someone with a heart of gold, helping where one could be the right thing to do. And that’s where we jump in. Having just arrived in Hoenn.
