Kommo-o threw the fist forward trying to hit Diancie. But it was met by the diamond swirled fist as it formed a MOONBLAST. What little energy his DRAIN PUNCH managed to suck away from her was spent simply dealing with the blast of released energy rippling across their battlefield.

Kommo-o did his best trying to stand against the near bottomless well of power that the Legendary Pokémon presented. But in the end, he failed. The energy throwing him back from whence he came. Where it not for the havoc their battle had already caused, he would’ve crashed through several pieces of face museum items.

Still, he crashed against the floor, knocked out.

Elinor used her Pokéball to recall the knocked-out Kommo-o. “Well done, Kaleo, now rest.” Her words whispered, but her smile was still there. She hadn’t expected him to defeat her, far from it actually. Still, she would have to evaluate later.

She turned her attention to Diancie and Matias. “Round 2?” She asked wondering if Diancie wished to fight against another of her Pokémon or if she was too tired or disinterested in doing that.

Elinor beamed a look of delightful happiness in Diancie’s direction as the legendary Pokémon overloaded her with cuteness with that little pose. Though Matias tried to do the same, his pose did not have the same effect, his words however carried a great impact. To be considered to have done a good job in the presence of an E4 did stroke her trainer’s pride.

When the confirmation for round 2 was announced, she fetched the second Pokéball. This time a Sceptile appeared. It did a few stretches and then looked ready towards Diancie. “Eco, don’t await my orders. Just fight with everything you got.”

The Sceptile nodded. And off it went, charging at the Diancie in a similar pattern to Kommo-o almost as if they trained together a lot. Though Sceptile was faster, its body enveloped in a silvery aura of Speed. Though the QUICK ATTACK, was not its only move. Green energy began to cover its hands. If the QUICK ATTACK succeeded, and he came within touching distance, he would do his best to latch onto Diancie and start the next attack, GIGA DRAIN.

sceptile. good choice, though how will it fare against one of the league's strongest in diancie? the moment of pondering will have to wait as the QUICK ATTACK commences.[break][break]

matias notices it fast enough to call out an order, though not fast enough to save diancie from the attack.[break][break]

"REACT—"[break][break]

too slow. QUICK ATTACK connects, smacking into diancie. the attack sends her slamming into a wall; the force of it scatters shards of glass on the floor around them.[break][break]

but diancie is quick to punch forward, sending a STONE EDGE towards sceptile.

The sense of rock-hard crystalline body against his more soft fleshy body. Was not a kind one. Sceptile handled it with the grace of a well-trained warrior. However, his secondary plan was not to be. Slamming into Diancie sends her flying, scattering shards of glass and whatnot on the floor.

Unfortunately, it meant she was out of his reach for now. The glow slowly faded as he had to formulate another plan. Alas, Diancie was not about to let him. Dangerous rock-like formations flew towards him in a STONE EDGE.

In a quick flash of movement, his body split and turned into copies of itself. The stones hit what would later be revealed to be a sort of afterimage as the stones flew through the DOUBLE TEAM. Sceptile sighed in relief, glad that he was just in time to avoid that.

Sceptile never stopped moving. He figured there was not a point in giving Diancie an easy target to hit. As he moved about zig-zagging from one place to the other, his tail began to glow a bright green before he swung himself around in a quick circle, letting leaves be released from his tail in a strong-looking LEAF STORM from his tail aimed directly towards Diancie.

LEAF STORM heads their way once again and this time diancie isn't quick enough to turn it into diamonds. they cut at her skin, drawing blood as she cries out in pain.[break][break]

in a moment of panic, diancie conjures more sheens of LIGHT SCREEN around her. but matias knows it will be of little use.[break][break]

"snap out of it!"[break][break]

for now, diancie remains vulnerable.

While Sceptile was focused on providing the battle with its utmost focus. He lacked the proper angle to see whether his attack was successful. Luckily, from where Elinor stood, she could easily see the hit, and the panic it caused.

“Keep it up, Eco!” Elinor cheered on.

Sceptile took the words of encouragement and decided that this was working for now. And so he wouldn’t let the assault of Leaves halt any time soon. His tail glowed once more, as he spun in the other direction. Sending forth a LEAF STORM from the opposite side. Hoping that the change in direction would catch the Diancie even more off-guard.

LEAF STORM grows with every passing second, overwhelming diancie leaving her unable to catch her breath. the air thins, causing her to gasp even more. diancie is going to pass out at this rate.[break][break]

plucking a peculiar stone into his shoulder, it starts to glow, sending tendrils of energy lashing out at diancie. the moment one connects, her whole body is engulfed in a brilliant display of colors.[break][break]

"LET'S GO."[break][break]

leaves turn to DIAMOND as MEGA DIANCIE emerges with the wrath of her DIAMOND STORM.

For a brief second Sceptile was convinced that he was about to taste the sweet taste of victory. He was rather proud of his LEAF STORM, so it was only natural that Diancie should fall to it. He allowed his defenses to fall for a brief moment.

Alas, that was a bigger mistake than he thought. Matias seemed to activate something within Diancie or maybe it was an outside influence, neither Elinor nor Sceptile could see it from there. But both trainer and Pokémon were rather baffled by the bright shining light that came from the Mega Evolution.

So baffled were they by the appearance of Mega Diancie, that Sceptile took the full brunt of the Mega empowered DIAMOND STORM. He was thrown backward, gliding down the floor upon his side as the diamonds hit him with such force that by the end of it, he wasn’t sure where it didn’t hurt.

Still, he fought his way onto his feet. Wanting, at the very least, to put up as good a fight as Kommo-o had. With heavy panting, and a body numb from the pain. He knew he had only a few shots of Leaf Storm left. And she would probably defend against it. He needed more energy, and there was only one way to get it, though he didn’t like to use it in such a way.

A Green blob of energy formed in his right hand as he took a stance readying the throw. He placed all of his weight behind it and then threw the green blob of energy toward Diancie. A small thread linking Sceptile to the blob trailed behind. Maybe cuing the Diancie in on the fact that this was a GIGA DRAIN attack. That hoped to latch onto her.

matias taps his feet gently against the ground in a small dance of joy. he'd always wanted to mega evolve diancie and to finally get the chance to do it is just wonderful.[break][break]

no need for orders anymore. diancie is in control of the battle.[break][break]

the small thread that lashes out at diancie connects, wrapping around her arm. but it is exactly what she wanted. her arm twists, coiling around the thread tighter before tugging sceptile towards her.[break][break]

then, at the same time, she brings a fist formed out of STONE EDGES and tries to punch the sceptile.

There were certain potential challenges with his choice of tactics. Sceptile had hoped those wouldn’t come into play. Alas, Diancie was quick to figure it out. Well, there was naught to do but to try and fight. As energy poured from the Legendary Pokémon’s waste reserves Sceptile felt energized.

Alas for all his energy Diancie was still superior to him, even in strength. She slowly tugged the Giga Drain thread around her arm. He tried to resist her pull with his pull, but he was unsuccessful in this small tug-o-war.

Diancie like death was inevitable. Soo, his face came to know the brutal fist of Diancie’s Stone Edge’d fist. Disoriented as he was, there was little left for him to do. His body felt heavy, his mind was going blank. Though he was not about to go down without a fight.

With one final show of force, he found the strength to whip his tail in Diancie’s direction summoning the leaf-mixed gales of another LEAF STORM.

the final LEAF STORM wraps around diancie in a suffocating manner, air thinning, and it proves enough to shift her out of her MEGA state.[break][break]

however, the outcome of the battle seems to have been decided long before. sceptile wavers on the edge of consciousness — will it stay standing after this final attack?[break][break]

the diamond in her head glows with what could be the final POWER GEM.

With his remaining energy, he successfully summoned the Leaf Storm. But that was the end. Unlike Kommo-o who was much more accustomed to battles and their high-speed pace, the Sceptile found himself fatigued early.

His sight grew blurry. His mind went blank. He could not summon the focus to continue. But still, he stayed standing for long enough to feel the force of the final Power Gem attack hit him, push him back as the full force made its way through his body. He just barely stayed upon his feet, only to fall to his knees the moment the force was no more, the loving embrace of the ground soon followed as his consciousness left his body.

Like before, Elinor’s smile did not wane. She hadn’t expected any of her Pokémon to last this long against a Legendary Pokémon, much less seemingly depriving it of staying in Mega Form. They had both done well. She retrieved the Sceptile’s Pokéball and called the Grass-type back. “Well done, Eco.” She whispered to it as she placed it back on in her trainer belt.

She turned her attention to Diancie. “Wow, that was pretty awesome. I didn’t know that you could Mega Evolve!” Elinor stated, eyes sparkling with excitement that her body could barely contain.

“Of course, my lips will stay sealed,” Elinor stated. Sending a pair of reassuring nods at both Matias and Diancie.

Elinor was given no respite from the questions, as Matias gave her yet another hard-hitting one. She seemed thoughtful for a moment as she wondered. How do I say this without sounding like a fan girl… Alas, she could think of no good ways to avoid doing so, and instead threw away any pretense of it. “That was amazing. Of course, I never expected to win. But I think both my Pokémon did pretty well.” She paused.

She looked at Matias for a brief moment, remembering her promise to not steal Virizion from him. But Diancie was offered no such protection. She had to take her chance, she missed a hundred percent of the shots she didn’t take. There was no certainty that she would get another shot at this. “So, uh. Diancie, do you have an avatar?”
