Another hunt starts just outside the small Hoenn town. Howls pierce the night air as the Houndoom catch the scent of their prey. Despite their haste, the pack’s footsteps are nearly silent as they bound through the wild outskirts of Route 117.

Hot on their heels is The Huntress, moving just as swiftly over the terrain and her hounds. Despite her grace, she can’t keep up, falling behind as they do as they are trained: pursue their prey.

A commotion breaks out in the distance before her. By the time she arrives, chest heaving with heavy breaths, she find the Houndoom surrounding a fallen Mandibuzz. The vulture is standing as tall as she can, favoring her right foot. The pack growls, circling, snapping their hungry jaws at the avain.

The pokemon’s beak parts, hissing violently at the closest canine. Her wings are spread, attempting to make herself appear as large as possible to the threats.

“Hm, for me,” she decides, indicating to Alpha that the creature would be meant for capture and wasn’t to be maimed.

The Houndoom relays the information to the pack and one by one they assault the poor creature with half-powered attacks: A BITE to an extended wing, a FEINT ATTACK to the back, and a THUNDER FANG to finish it off. When the Mandibuzz struggle to rise, Toni tosses a pokeball in its direction, attempting to capture the dark-type for her hoard.
