But it made the fact that she actually came running after him all the stranger. And speaking of strangers! He was one! Yet here she was, inconveniencing herself for a little bit of peace of mind on his part.[break][break]

Part of him failed to realize the irony. For the part, it was far too palpable.[break][break]

Oh well. No escaping this one. Like a stage magician being held at gunpoint by a jealous mime, Isaac had to reveal his tricks. "Well, yeah, it's my wallet," Isaac said. "But I made sure to get all the important stuff out before I dropped it."[break][break]

There. It was out in the open. Isaac knew she was gonna hit him with the 'why,' so he figured he'd beat her to the punch. "You said you didn't have any money, right?" he asked. Arceus, it felt silly explaining it like this. Isaac averted his eyes. "I know what it's like. Having to get by on not much. And, shit, you were already having such a bad day. So I guess I figured . . . y'know . . ."[break][break]

He trailed off, not sure how to finish that sentence. "Just . . . trust me. You can keep it. No tricks, nothing owed, none of that. I promise. Just something you can at least get the day back on a better foot."[break][break]

This was so much harder than showmanship. Stupid earnestness.

The confused stare from Priscilla told Isaac all that he needed to know. She had not seen through the rouse that Isaac had attempted, and quite frankly would not have accepted it even if she had. He beat her to her next question by quickly explaining why he tried tricking her into the money.

His reasoning was sound. She could see it from his point of view. Still, she couldn’t accept it no matter what. She shook her head a bit stubbornly, as a slight pout formed. He was either being far too kind or he knew the guilt would eat her up at some point.

She figured after all this, he would probably not be coerced into taking his money back by words and so she tried to reach for his hand and with her own hand force the wallet into his grip while she spoke “I know you mean well, but I can’t accept this. I will get by somehow, so don’t worry about it.”

As Priscilla tried to literally cram the money back into his hand, Isaac wondered what his chances would be if he just tried to run off. She didn't seem like the running type, right? Ugh, but they were mobbed up in a crowd. Any chase scenes would turn into games of human dominos, and with both of them being on the smaller side they would be the losers of an impromptu mosh pit. Bad plan.[break][break]

Still, he pulled his hand back, slipping it into his pockets so Priscilla couldn't squeeze a wallet into his palm if she tried. "Seriously, it's all good," Isaac said. "I've been meaning to get a newer one anyway. If anything, literally not having a wallet's gonna kick my lazy ass in gear and make sure I don't forget." Oh, half truths. Was there any problem they couldn't solve? Besides, with how hellbent Priscilla was on being helpful, maybe convincing her that she was doing him a favor would actually work.[break][break]

What was Kiryu doing during all of this? Well, the poor Aggron's shoulders rumbled like tectonic plates as she tried her hardest not to start laughing. Even after having practically raised this boy, she was astounded by the new levels of nonsense he managed to reach.

If Isaac thought that she’d simply accept such an excuse. Well, he would be wrong. There was no way that it wasn’t just a simple lie spoken to rid her of the guilt. She knew such lies. She had personal experience with them.

Still, Isaac seemed hellbent on not getting the money back and she in turn was hellbent on returning the money. There was but one compromise to make. She looked towards the Aggron who seemed rather amused by the whole ordeal.

She looked deep into its eyes. Then down at the wallet, then towards Isaac as she said. “Well, sorry but you are getting it whether you like it or not!” And then she did something she never thought she would do in her life. She gently threw the Wallet towards the Aggron, hoping that it would catch it but she didn’t stay to see as she began to run off in the opposite direction.

OOC: Well, I figure this might be a fitting end. Let us not cook more soup upon it than necessary!

Isaac could only watch as the girl charged away like a living cruise missile. She was fast. Scarily fast. And uncoordinated. Worryingly uncoordinated. "Hey, try not to trip-" he warned, only to cringe as he heard a crash echo through the crowd. Oh yeah. She definitely tripped.[break][break]

Isaac turned to Kiryu, as if trying to make any sense of what transpired. Instead, much to his surprise, the dam finally broke. Kiryu was doubled over as she howled with laughter. If it wasn't for the crowd of very squishable humans surrounding her, she probably would have been rolling on the floor by now. Instead, she just threw her head back and laughed like she hadn't in years. Crowds parted like the seas just to give the great big kaiju some space, and the force of her mirth sent birds scattering through the air.[break][break]

Isaac looked to her as she recovered, as if to say something. However, instead she just put a gentle hand on Isaac's shoulder, a shake of her head the only response.[break][break]

Either it wasn't worth it to ask questions, or Isaac was being the dumbest boy alive.[break][break]

In either case, it was time to leave these streets behind. It was time to get back to . . . shit, what were they even doing, again? Isaac groaned as he realized that all of these distractions meant he'd pretty much forgotten. In other words, business as usual. But at least now he could face whatever was coming next with a full wallet and a very, very confused conscience.
