INTRODUCTORY BLURB

A SOUL IS FORGED IN THE FLAMES OF ADVERSITY.

Aurelie Lefevre comes from a long line of acclaimed metalworkers and smiths who over the generations have developed a multitude of traditions revolving around metal, competition, and family. She started smithing at age nine and has worked hard ever since to become an accomplished blacksmith and bladesmith who specializes in creating beautiful, functional knives that are comfortable to wield and highly effective when used. Skilled, industrious, passionate, and utterly devoted to her craft, she seemed like an ideal scion of the Lefevre lineage.

However, when she and her younger brother competed against each other to determine which of them was worthy to inherit their father's workshop, a terrible accident nearly cost Aurelie her right eye and certainly cost her the chance to win the contest. Embittered and disillusioned, she left Kalos to make a new home for herself in Hoenn and set up a new bladesmithing and blacksmithing business on her own terms.

Born and raised in the Kalos Region, Aurelie holds a bachelor's degree in materials science from Anistar University. She also possesses several blacksmithing and bladesmithing certifications, demonstrating a high level of skill in the fields of metalworking, welding, and metal casting.

Now she runs her own workshop, the Iron Lady Forge, located in Lilycove City, where she sells hand-forged kitchen cutlery, field knives, scissor blades, and other useful tools for everyday life. In addition, Aurelie is at least passingly proficient with the use of the blades she creates and has studied a few different styles of bladed combat, like formal Kalosian fencing or weapons-based martial arts, though she's far from a master swordswoman or knife fighter.

A few incidents from her teenage years indicate a fiery temper and unforgiving disposition, but Aurelie appears to have matured into an ordinary upstanding citizen and hardworking small business owner. It appears that her previous success as a bladesmith in Kalos gave her the ability to purchase a workshop and smithing equipment to establish herself comfortably in Hoenn. Though her workshop staff currently consists only of her Pokemon and herself, she still manages to create high-quality products and deliver them on time to her few but approving customers.

ROCKET KNOWLEDGE

POINTS OF INTEREST FOR TEAM ROCKET FACTION

When Aurelie left Kalos, feeling distraught and betrayed by the family she had loved so dearly, Rocket was what helped her pick up the pieces and restored her sense of purpose. Rocket gave her some funds in addition to her own savings, which helped finance the purchase of her Lilycove City workshop and expensive smithing equipment. In return, she serves as a willing assistant and weapons forger for any and all Rocket members who require her services (though, given the existence of powerful Pokemon, physical weaponry remains in limited demand for most trainers).

PRIVATE KNOWLEDGE

PERSONAL INFORMATION

• She fully believes her younger brother Argentate sabotaged her work and injured her, leaving lasting physical and emotional scars.
• Under the eyepatch, her right eye is mostly intact and functional, but cannot fully open because of the unsightly, disfiguring mass of burns and scar tissue both atop and around it.
• Though Aurelie loves and misses the food, wine, art, and culture of Kalos, she has vowed to never return there.
• She is a good cook, but tends to just make the same three dishes for every meal over and over again, if left to her own devices.
• One favorite way for Aurelie to unwind is with video games, particularly RPGs, MOBAs, and action-adventure games. As a teenager, she was barred from playing warrior-type characters because of her tendency to deliver lengthy, pedantic "That's not a knife! Now that's a knife!"-type lectures in the middle of climactic battles. She still sticks to this out of habit and thus usually tends to play magic-user characters instead.
